  1. Ha... Imma gonna win! I've got an entry at 201 miles!!! Todie's Wild Ride II: Further Up and Further In (Let the trash-taking begin...)
  2. Great! I'm glad to be proved wrong!
  3. What a great story--a reminder that a bug can go missing for a VERY long time, and still turn up!!!
  4. There's a pinned thread up above here that has a list of frequently asked questions. The knowledgebase article you're looking for is here: http://support.Groundspeak.com/Support/ind...&nav=0,5,10
  5. You also might take into consideration how often the cache is visited... If you're the first visit in 3 months, I bet those bug owners would appreciate you moving them along... If it gets found on a daily basis, you could leave one for the next guy to take... but you don't have to. Hopefully they have mission cards attached, so you can determine if you can help them out or not. That would be the biggest factor in my decision. But I usually take a picture of the tracking number so I can discover it... that way the bug owner knows is bug has made it another day!
  6. Did you happen to read the link I posted? It seems to indicate that your request would not be honored. But go ahead and ask Groundspeak directly... makes a lot more sense then asking for my opinion...(or anyone else's)

  8. I deal with death and dying on a regular basis... and I hope that my off-the-cuff response before didn't come across offensive to you. This is one of those topics that seems to come up every couple of weeks, and it's easy to forget that not everyone has been through the same discussions. So for the off-the-cuff nature of my comment, I apologize. In all seriousness... if you don't enjoy them, then don't do them. And if they wouldn't be appropriate for your children (if you have them?) then don't do them. But as someone who regularly works with people through the grieving process, I would suggest that it is better to help children understand death and dying to the degree that they are capable of understanding. A simple visit to a cemetery is a good way to introduce a child to the concept of death before it's someone that they know. It's a way to help them learn about what a cemetery is before they have to come to one for their first funeral, and have their own grief to deal with. But, everyone is different... and everyone grieves differently. While I'm personally not crazy about caching in cemeteries, I can understand how it can be done (hidden and found) in a respectful and appropriate way, and I have no problems with people who incorporate that as part of their game.
  9. You get extra points for spelling "cemetery" correctly! Seriously... some people like them, some don't. If it's not your cup of tea, don't do it. If you choose to hunt cemetery caches, please don't start "digging around" to find the cache!
  10. Technically, Micros are defined as roughly the size of a film can or smaller. "Nano" isn't an official size category on Geocaching, but is commonly used to refer to a cache that is significantly smaller than a film can. A nano might be the size of your little finger.... or even just the size of the tip of your little finger.
  11. when you sand your lock-n-locks, do you use a sandpaper? Or a liquid deglosser? What type?
  12. Just wanted to point out that you said this backwards.... not meaning to be the language police, but we don't want someone to misunderstand this important point. You should "trade something of yours for something of equal or lesser value." Or... you should "trade something in the cache for something of equal or greater value." In other words... leave the cache the same or better then it was when you found it. (Funny... that principle applies to lots of things in life!)
  13. you could also get a special personal geocoin, and dip it in all of your FTFs. That might be a fun solution.
  14. And if there are any survivors, we'll bury them in Canada.
  15. Or, is one of the states your "home" state? If so, I'd go with that. Or... is there one reviewer you have worked more closely with? If so, I'd go with that.
  16. Is the trailhead or parking lot clearly in one of the states?
  17. And who said that moderators around here don't have a sense of humor?

  19. Do you all use a template of some sort? Or do you paint it all in a base color and then add other colors on top in random circles/lines?
