  1. Great suggestions! Like TheWhiteUrkel, I also tend not to travel with much technology. A relaxing holiday for me includes only the sights and sounds of nature. (Guess that's why I enjoy hiking so much.) I will however, try to seek out an internet cafe, and attempt to log my "drop" ASAP. I think other geo-cachers would appreciate this. I may "drop" the geo-coin as soon as I can within the US (maybe at one of my first stops), and hope that another traveller "grabs" it. My goal is to get it out of Canada. If it truly wants to travel "around the world", it must get out of its country of origin eventually. Thanks for all the great suggestions and speedy replies. I appreciate hearing from all of you experienced geo-cachers!
  2. My family and I just began geo-caching a couple of months ago, and we love it! (Wish we had more time to do it.) Beacuse we also have children, and we tend to go as a family, I really appreciate seeing kid-friendly items in the caches. In addition to some of the great suggestions already given, we often will leave a lapel pin from a location that we have travelled to. Both the young and young-at-heart seem to like these, and many people collect them, as well. Happy geo-caching!
  3. Great advice! Thanks again KoosKoos! I am still pretty green, and wouldn't want to offend anyone. Having fun!
  4. After reading some of the forum discussions about logging found coins & TBs, it brings to mind another question for you well-seasoned geo-cachers....What if someone picks up the coin in the US, before I've had a chance to get home to Canada to log that I've dropped it off? Is there a potential problem with this? If so, how can this be prevented? I will not have access to a computer while vacationing. (Just thinking ahead)I don't want to ruin the fun for anyone else, and I don't want to anger anyone because of my inexperience. Thanks in advance again, for your thoughts/comments.
  5. Thanks for your speedy replies. Its goal is posted to travel from cache to cache "around the world". It has only been to 3 Canadian provinces within the last 1 1/2 year, so I thought it would be great for it to leave the country when I vacation in the US. If it's going to travel to world, I'd like to help it along if I can....Thanks again. This is a great sport!
  6. Hi there. I'm from New Brunswick, Canada and I'm new to geo-caching. I recently found my first geocoin. How exciting! It has travelled across 2-3 Canadian provinces, and it wants to travel more. I'd like to help it along with its travels, but had a couple of questions for those of you who are more experieneced in geo-caching. I'm planning a trip to the US next week with my family. We plan to do some geo-caching while there. Is it acceptable to place this geo-coin in another country? If so, is there a protocol I must follow, other than logging its location when I return home? Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions.
