  2. Per Renegade Knight Post#1 Per discussions with Groundspeak they are donating an Icon for the series. Any one coin that sells more than 500 would get it's own Icon. I still like this one because the background color and picture ties in with the coin and the hands tie in with the name. I think you are right if this particular coin sold 500 than this icon or the foot would or at least could be used for that particular coin. I think and I could be wrong, that Renagade Knight is looking for an icon to cover a series of coins entitled "Friend of Caching" Any coin in the series selling more than 500 units would than have it's own Icon. At least that is how I understand it.
  3. Why not do both if your not sure? Tracking numbers at the least increase the value to others.
  4. How about an open hand of friendship
  5. Additional attempts using Atwell Family suggestion for the background
  6. I will be bringing some cache ca$h to the coinfest about the size of confederate bills printed on parchment paper for trade packed i groups of four with a pathtag I have about eight different modals featuring coins that came out this year.
  7. It is hard to think of new ways to just take a common sense approach to being cautious when in or on a moving vehicle. Anything traveling at any kind of speed decreases your time to react to any situation that arises. The biggest Asset you have is to know how fast you can react to what situation may arise in relationship to the trafic that you find yourself in. The biggest tip would be to know and understand your own limitations and abilities and not to overestimate them. We had a fellow at work here last year miss a week due to wiping out on his moped on a gravel road, obviously he was going no faster than twenty five miles per hour. But his reaction to what transpired was to slow to prevent the circumstance. Because I live in an amish community It is important for me to always be on the look out for the buggies & Bikes that can turn up in the road around any corner, you have to think about the possibilities when your moving at any kind of speed. The Guy working next to me ran into a mennonite bicyclist at four AM on a foggy morning, he was not moving fast but a truck vs bicycle he did not need to be. It would be wrong for me to blame buggies and bikes as these folks need to get to work also and I need to allow enough time for delays. In a nutshell Only I can prevent accidents. I am the only one responsible for my Driving. Others are safer when I drive Safely. Fill in your own catch phrase for you....
  8. THE NIGHT BEFORE COINFEST or.... The coin junkies Version of Christmas... Twas the night before Coinfest, when all through the house Not a cacher was stirring, except ATmouse; The coins were all packaged and ready with care, In preparation of trading that soon would be there; The Fox & Hound nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of shiny things danced in their heads; And mamma in her Hikers, and I in my cap, Had just settled down for our nightly nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and lost my stash. The moon beamed bright on the ground below A glow in the dark appearance to objects below, When, what to my sleepy eyes should appear, But a huge ammo can, and eight tiny reindeer, With a little old driver, so lively and slick, I knew in a moment it must be Geo-Nick. More rapid than FTFs his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name; "Now, Spartacus! now, Anthus! now, Malder and Bertha! On, Tsun! On sweetlife! on, Backhiker and Eartha! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now cache away! Cache away! Cache away all!" As magnetic words that before WRITE SHOP ROBERT fly, When they meet with a cointest, mount to the sky, So up to the house-top the cachers they flew, With the sleigh full of swag, and Geo-Nicholas too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and dancing of each little spoof. As fast as Geocoinfairy and Ida can turn hope around, Down the chimney Geo-Nick came with a bound. He was dressed all in Bling, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were tarnished with briers and soot; A bundle of swag he had flung on his back, And he looked like a cacher just opening his pack. He looked so lovable you could give him a hug, You could tell he'd been bitten by the geocoinbug His eyes -- how they twinkled! His dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like bluecherry! His tight little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as you know; The stump of a pencil he held tight in his teeth, And the log book pages encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a gigantic round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of geo-jellies. He was chubby and plump, like the Geo_Leprechaun elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the caches; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his Ride, to his team gave a train whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, as he rode to the West, "Happy Caching to all, and to all a good CoinFest." Could GeoNick be the new mystery Coiner? Tune in tomorrow for..... The Ballad of Coinawatha on the wigoweb trails By the lake didIwinna.
  9. The Greatest Cache Found. Mirror, Mirror in the hall Where is the greatest cache of them all? It is, It is, where it is not. The place you once looked and forgot Not in the valley beneath the bow Not in the riverbed where it is low Not in the mountains rising high. Not in the clouds where planes pass by Neither found in oceans wide & deep Nor in cave where bats find sleep It is not so tricky it can’t be found And not translucent in camo bound. It is always the closest one near Yet in your searching you’ve lost it I fear To find the Greatest, in yourself start Beacause the Greatest Cache is in your heart! Epilogue Hide not your cache where others can’t see Wear it, share it, and keep it free.
  10. I try to understand the bike and rider and guage what or how they will react as I am moving past or towards the cycle. Harley guys tend to just cruise and are a bit layed back. the crotch rocket kids like to zip a bit more through traffic so they need special precautions when coming up from behind you. The traditional rice burners tend to be economicly inclined riders and are more of a normal driver. everyone on a bike desrves a little more space, and a little more caution.
  11. I think after having given it a quick try Special K might be mor apt at combining the two. Here was my attempt Special K star looks sharp but the hands need work
  12. I would never tell you to purchase into ten percent of the market to fix something, stay with the 90 percent and things will stay affordable. There are several ways to adjust image size, easiest way is to increase the margins around the image in the printer page settings.
  13. How about the 'G' behind the shaking hands? OK If he is interested.
  14. I have never made an Icon and do not know the first thing about creating one. But I thought I would make a quick rough attempt at what I thought might represent the friends of caching in my mind so this is a first ever rough attempt. to maybe go a slight different direction for those developing an icon.
  15. A List of Items I am bringing. Approximatly 50 pathtags bagged with coin flyers including the Summer meltdown flyer I sent out previously to help buid some excitment for the cointest, the pathtags are mostly form the pathtag club for August and september with a few Indiana jones. I will have the Keystone minis group project coin minimum of 75 to trade. I will have about 10 trackable coins to trade (Not a very good collector) Some ca$h (Hope to be a better collector) I have 8 Replicoin Proxy copies left over from my venture into the proxy thread on these forums (Will make a great humorous paper weight for your desk) they cost about $6.00 to produce. I will reserve one for AvroAir so he can have something lame to look at on his desk. Also I have produced 100 Event cards placed in PKK plastic card holders that will make a nice coaster for beverages. Pic below. I will be at the meet and greet the night befor and at the event between 10:00 - 2:00 pm if there is any interest in any of the above items. You will have to find me because I do not know any of you. I will be the one prickly all over. (don't get to close).

  20. I do not think it is unreasonable for businesses to keep a delivery schedule on the products they are making. For those in the vender field I understand delays due to outside services as I do scheduling and processing of work for this areas biggest manufacture of custom fabricated equipment. We run into all kinds of problems that effect the delivery of products, but we have to keep the customer informed and sometimes we pay a penalty for late delivery. If your not willing to have a customer as master than providing products for others is the wrong field to be in. I think that if this thread helps increase the flow of information it will be helpful to all. If I can look here and see which companies or hobbiest's are having difficulty in delivering goods and communicating problems then I will know who not to buy from. It is imperitive that the information posted here is correct because it will have intangible effect on the seller and buyer of coins. Reputations are easy to fabricate but hard to maintain, I think this thread will help the community not by who is listed but also by who is not.
