  1. I got my pocket query today as expected, but today it contained a virus and my computer will not let me look at it. It will not tell me what the virus name is, just that it is infected. Anyone else had this trouble today?
  2. Best personal record is 68 caches found in one day. Well 18 hours. In Gainesville, FL. Some micros, some trail caches, some virtuals and even a locationless. Even 4 DNF's and 2 MEFF.
  3. I have found that it depends on the time of day that you run a PQ. I live on the east coast and if you run one around dinner time, then it usually pops right up, but wait til later in the evening it can take hours.
  4. So who is the Florida Rep? We have a very organized group here in NorthEast FL known as NEFGA. http://www.negfa.com I am sure that if we got a hold of some we could get them out there to the caches...
  5. I just wish that FL residents could win. It just figures that there is this GREAT contest, and I can not enter cause I live in Florida. This Sucks.
  6. umm... they just call it official and there is no one to contradict it. For instance, I am the OFFICIAL Geocaching Physician... Just ask anyone.... no one knows any different to say I am not... See how easy it is!! Yes, and we have an appointment with the OFFICIAL Geocaching physician on May 2nd at 11:30am. and you all are invited to attend...
  7. Do you even know me to label me so? I doubt that you even looked at my find locations.. I have no close caches to my home.. I've always had to travel to cache.. If I had an obsession with cities.. then why isn't Mpls/St. Paul which is ONLY 4 hrs from me still left untouched? I've always geocached for a reason.. and I don't feel like stating it here to be torn apart or hashed over or judged. I am not judging the people of these cities I spoke about.. ALL I've said is because I've been there 1 year before I can state clearly of the MAJOR change in the placements. PERIOD.. I've seen this thread morph from my request for a way to find Historical/Special Interests to everyone's peeves. Why can't anyone understand that I looked forward to my yearly trip down to Florida to geocache.. and that all those good memories I had fed into what I expected to yet be there. If all cities are going to become heavily loaded with these types of placements with no scenic/historical/cool etc placement area.. PLEASE then save those that want to travel for the experiences/learning by using geocaching as the driving force and guiding route. I just wished/requested for a way to filter some out.. And if I was into the numbers.. most that know me KNOW I could have ALOT more.. if I'm into the numbers.. why then am I requesting a filtering system to remove 98% of the very easy driveup lampost type hides?? Please do not do anymore personal attacks/judgements upon me.. ~The Lil Otter Well, If YOU don't like the way it is going, then YOU should have kept your mouth shut. I can not believe that you have trashed Jacksonville caches like you have. If those are your true feelings about caches in Jacksonville, then, PLEASE pass us by next time. we have a great group of cachers here and we don't need an outsider telling us that our caches are lame. We have done some lame caches while traveling, but never stated in the forums that they are lame or that we should do away with them. They are a cache and you have to take the good with the bad. I still can not believe that you bad mouthed a local cache right in front of the owner and he didn't punch you out. His Fiancee had to hold him back. You have stepped on the wrong toes speaking of Jacksonville as you have.
  8. hmmmm...... we may have to remedy that oversight. Yup, I have found one... Stop, Shop and Cache GC6BD5. A light pole, in the middle of the woods.
  9. I use a suction cup windshield mount from GPSGeek
  10. You know your obsessed with GeoCaching when: 1. your car is littered with McToys and you don't even have kids.. 2. 95% of the numbers in your cell phone belong to other cachers... 3. You spend hours walking up and down the aisles of Home Depot looking for the next best cache container. 4. your on the way home from work. Home is only about 18 miles but you end up 40 miles in the oposite direction from home because you were just following the arrow to the next nearest cache. 5. the vehicle you just purchased 5 months ago with only 4 miles on it already has over 12,000 miles (mostly spent doing u-turns) 6. you have had the police called on you (michelle) because you were spotted disapearing in the woods with two small children in the rain. (true story)
  11. At the last couple of events we have attended, everyone was asked to bring a cache item in the $5-10 range for the table. You got to pick your prize from the table in the order you finished the event.
  12. At the last event we attended, we played GeoBINGO. Where eveyone had a bingo sheet with differnt aspect of cache hunting in the squares, then you had to go around and ask people if any of the items pertained to them then they could sign one square only. Nice ice breaker and way to met everyone there.

  17. Yes. He has explained himself. He has answered questions that only a person who found the cache could know, so I am satisfied with his finds, just not how he posted them. He has found a couple today and he put "SIGNED THE LOG" in his post, so I think we got through to him.
  18. What are the rules in Geocaching? Geocaching is a relatively new phenomenon. Therefore, the rules are very simple: 1. Take something from the cache 2. Leave something in the cache 3. Write about it in the logbook Where you place a cache is up to you. copied straight from the FAQ section....
  19. NEFGA http://www.nefga.com NorthEast Florida Geocachers Assoc. We represent Northeast Florida. Jacksonville and surrounding NE Florida areas (west to Lake City, SW to Gainesville, S to the southern edge of Ocala NF, SE to the Daytona area).
  20. Where can you get free webspace for 3 years??? http://www.1and1.com/ see here: http://www.nefga.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8
  21. Yes, that was me. I only said it because GeoGal was raving about her having to pay for the site because of your lack of income. I was only stating a fact that there is an offer out there that will give you free web space for 3 years. Too bad cacheflorida.com didn't last that long....
  22. Yes, we (serveal area cachers) have emailed him and no one as of yet has gotten a response yet. He posted all these finds in a matter of 24 hours. One cacher told me that he did a couple of his in one day that were too far apart location wise to be logged in the same day.
