  1. PLEASE fellow cachers have the common decency to contact a cache owner BEFORE you nominate it for archive. Personally, I find it rather rude to ask that a cache of mine be archived. Especially, if there is a reason that it is sitting in "unavailable status." As I have not found anyone (other than myself) to be overtly rude... until now, please take the time to actually CONTACT the cache owner first. Not all of us go out cacheing, or even think about cacheing on a daily, or even regular basis. After being up at 4 am and then being on my feet for nine hours...during the week all I am thinking about after work is getting off my feet and taking the dog for her walkies. Thanks folks! axcion
  2. I wholeheartedly agree with the topic. I'd rather get comments like these: Ambers Revenge II I still have the log book from this cache (I remove it in the winter) and will replace it when Amber is out for revenge again. I am hoping another cache of mine gets logs as good. (The pix in the logs don't give the location justice.....about a 9 meter drop under the cache.) Amber's smiling! Then again I am guilty of the TNLN SL (microcaches in lame lame lame locations).
  3. Wondering why UK site can't access G.com? Simple..TPTB are attempting to stop other sites from using the info that the users are providing for free. G.com has copyrighted everything that the users provide, and do not want to pass that on to other sites to use. Geocaching, unfortunately has gotten to be a fairly profitable business for someone. And they don't want to take the risk of someone else profiting off of the user provided information. Which is why I don't buy travelbugs for $6.00, I use laminated banknotes stamped with Wheresgeorge.com and have a destination note laminated with them. They are lamintated because I have heard other cachers were using the WG$ to pay their premium membership fees here. Blue and Lutions are a good alternative / addition to the Geocaching world.
  4. Okie Dokeie... <OPINION> For people to go ask any government agency for rules about anything it doesn't already have rules about...is just BEGGING for copious amounts of hassles, new regulations, and of course, as this is Nebraska, FEES!! Please DONT ask the City Of Lincoln for new rules as well. If they have chosen to ignore us....all the better! As for the State Game and Parks Dept.....well heck.... SOMEONE had to go and open up that can of worms. Now we all will have to deal with it. Personally, I have deliberately NOT went after caches in their "YOU GOTTA PAY TO USE THIS AREA" places. I pay my taxes (including the REC ROADS fee on my car) every year, my sales taxes daily, etc....THAT should allow me to use a SP for a couple hours once or twice a year. </OPINION>
  5. I'd like to see who is watching my caches. I always wonder who is watching the caches. ANyone else like to see this feature?
  6. Yep, that was a bit on the interesting side wasn't it. Bons... what about "If you find a body in there, put it back and DON'T call us!" from the nice policeman.
  7. THe cache in question, I fear, was removed whilst the crew was removing anything not growing or going to grow in the future. It was plainly marked on the exterior, and it did have both cache notes in it. (from both caching sites). I can't knock the clean up crew...they did one heck of a job!
  8. Except those of us that showed up! It's a pity those cachers in the city that benefitted, neglected to show up. ..save 2...the rest of us drove the hour plus to get there! Those that showed up, generally had a pretty good time, and there was a considerable bit of stuff removed.
  9. CarleenP... You misunderstand....the carcass is short of it's head. Not the other way around. Some "hunter" removed it's head with what appears to be a chainsaw. Well looking at the cut anyway. Not many things cut quite like a chainsaw!! Aww...come on now...you can help manhandle that fat, bloated carcass with the rest of us can't you??
  10. Unfortunately along with the starter of this topic... I am in the planning stages of a CITO event in January, and know there is a beheaded deer just waiting to be removed. I am going to try and get the local animal control people to get it out. Heck, I'd even be happy to log them as being at the event!!
  11. Ok, so no playboys, no knives, no leathermans, no drugs, no "adult" toys. Dang, sounds like my livingroom, kitchen, and garage are definitely NOT going to be approved as cache locations. In all seriousness.... I grew up with Dad's Playboy magazines on the coffee table (I suspect I evaded "THE TALK" by reading those magazines), a whole kitchen full of knives and other sharp things, and my Dad's workshop has just about every single tool a woodworker, plumber, roofer, mason, tile layer, carpet layer, etc... more than one older sibling had copious amounts of recreational pharmaceuticals at their disposal (wasn't interested in them though...one was completely "mind blown," the other had multiple visits from various law enforcement officials) the "adult toys" thing well I can understand that as well. I do understand the no drugs, adult toys, and porn in caches....but a leatherman tool??? yeesh... yet another reason to list on navi-cache website as well.
  12. Bloody hell..... There it is AGAIN!! "There is already a Nebraska Group"
  13. Greets... I am going to start a new travel bug. Sporty (of the Spice Girls fame)has been in the middle of the States for quite some time now, and she is rather disappointed in the footie here. She does occasionally catch a REDS match on the tele, but it is usuallyon quite a bit past her bed time. I'd like to send her off to see a proper LFC match at Anfield, and to other matches across the UK, as well. Anyone up for helping Sporty on her mission? I would be more than willing to pay the post each way to a cacher on your side of the ocean. axcion
  14. I will be attempting to send a Sporty Spice travel bug to the UK for a proper footie match. Seems she doesn't like watching the local University Womens team much, she wants to see the lads play at Anfield! I'd kinda like to send her on a tour of footie matches throughout the UK! I would be more than willing to post this bug to a cacher in the UK to have her travel a bit there, and then pay the return post. Is it ok for a LFC fan to like Beckham now that he play for Real Madrid? axcion
  15. I finally came across a 'beadling', brought it home to the wife to see. She thought it was ever so cute. I guess now I am on a mission to get these things for her! LOL Ya never know!
  16. Direct quote: Since we had friends with us, we took both the toy and the Where's George bill. We left two beadlings: a girl and an ant. What are beadlings one may ask?? Little glass beads hooked together with wire. I just hope children are the ones making these things.
  17. quote:Originally posted by General Bracket:In any case, I actually am curious about that. That part wasn't just goofing. It has also been my experience that cops have little to no sense of humor. No gray area. All by the book. Black and white only. Seriously. I'm not trying to get a rise, this has actually been my observation. Any thoughts? I am sure this was prolly answered already but.... Black and White, no grey area attitude is simple... have you seen the way most people treat police / sheriffs / etc...? They lie to them at every opprotunity given to them, don't want them around unless they called them, they always want the officer / deputy to take their side, deny doing anything wrong even when the officer stood there and watched them do it. Not to mention people tend to run from them, shoot at them, physically attack them, etc... (OK same could be said for a lot of school teachers ) I have to Police officers in my family. Folks just have to remember that 99.9% of the officers are just doing their job. They didn't write the laws, they just enforce them.
  18. Have I mentioned how much I dispise yahoo forums?? It always makes me prove who I am by responding to an email that they say is instant but I don't get it for days!
  19. Anyone up for a get together in the next couple of weeks, before the cold winter starts working it's way into our lives? From some of the logs posted in specific cache's logbooks and pages, I really like to meet some folks that are into this hobby. axcion
  20. Would you be the same Agent Okie on WheresGeorge?
  21. quote:Originally posted by Da Gyze: So called "sportsmen", guys who get in touch with nature by stopping at Walmart on the way to the easiest place to sit their fat *** and catch farm raised fish and throw thier bottles, butts, and Dorito bags anywhere they want, really need to start looking after their piggish selves. Probably the same folks that think WAL*MART is the best place on the planet to shop (and ship the US economy off to China.) are probably buying the cheapo beer there as well.
