  1. Hi All, Thanks for your responses. It's a great help as there seems to be a lot of variables and deciding what fits my intentions makes for fun times. As far as software, is Metro Guide a key one? And how about the Topo software? I do some extensive hiking. Thanks, Terry
  2. Now that you are on the issue of Metro Guide, as I am totally new to geocaching and just got my GPS last night, is the Metro Guide the best mapping software to get? I see a lot of other things offered, just want to get the best that will give the detail. Also, is the topo software worth having? Thanks, Terry
  3. Hi All, Brand new and want to get started cacheing, but need some good advise on what GPS to get. Have read some on the various units, but so confusing. What are the basics needed? Topographical? street maping? WAAS capability? Also have an IPAQ,I could get software for I think, but wouldn't be waterproof. Also, travel Asia and Europe so would like to be able to possibly find some caches there. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks
  4. Absoluely new to the idea of geocaching, but excited about getting started. Have read some about various units, but need some advise on what is a good unit to get. Would probably use it around the world as I travel a lot so what should I look for in a unit? What brand/style is recommended?
