I use a Magellan Meridian that was on sale in a local sports store. After all the rebates and everything, I paid about $70 which appears to be a really good deal. The unit works well and seems to get me near enough to the caches to find them. Even though this my first GPS, it functions well and I can recommend it.

I just got an answer to a question from Warriorrider suggesting that the first and last waypoint in a route be named so that it is evident on the route listing where the route goes. Great idea! Does this forum have any sort of listings of other good ideas that a newbie like me can read? Thanks.

My question was really how to name a route based on a backtrack. For example, I travel to the lake and would like to save the track as a route and name it LAKE. I know that I could just activate backtrack to get home but what if I turn the GPS off which would normally erase that backtrack? How to save the backtrack as a named route? Thanks

Is it possible to name a route that was created as a backtrack? My manual for the Magellan Meridian GPS does not seem to cover that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
