  1. No go, Vista HCX support max 2025 map tiles. With topo 2008 map, you will hit this hard limit before you reach the 2GB, let alone 4GB. A deal to die in half an hour $15.99 - Lowest Ever, Today (april 23) Only A-DATA 4GB MicroSDHC Class 6 with SD Card Adapter Go to Supermediastore.com, add it to your cart. Use 30% off Special Coupon Code: SUPER30(Exp 04/23/2008) at checkout. There is $5 rebate(expire: 04/23/08). And free shipping.
  2. Yes it is still listed, just no more the red "buy" button as other listed maps do. Most probably just OOS, not discontinued.
  3. Anyone has any info? The map can no longer be ordered from Garmin website. not Sure if it is out of stock or discontinued.
  4. Exactly. The only one that I aware of the serves 80% city driving and 20% hiking purpose is the the Garmin quest (or quest 2, I prefer the former). But the Antenna is not as sensitive as the hiking one, using a external antenna (with some dangling cable while hiking) is fine though, not perfect. 20hour internal battery life.
  5. I'd think as long as the unit has no register record (by anyone), it is fine. Call me a dinosaur, I acquired a new "outfitted" Garmin 2610 this year (which is already a discontinued model), I registered and still get a free 2008 update. I should have wait now to register it to get a 2009.
  6. If you depends on garmin website, the best way is to compare yours to their listed part number MapSource BlueChart Americas Garmin Part Number: 010-10317-00 U.S. List Price: $151.65 (for domestic US market only) (additional regions available for $116.65 each) MapSource BlueChart Atlantic Garmin Part Number: 010-10318-00 U.S. List Price: $250.89 (for domestic US market only) (additional regions available for $216.65 each) MapSource BlueChart Atlantic SMALL Garmin Part Number: 010-10318-01 U.S. List Price: $136.00 (for domestic US market only) (additional regions available for $86.67 each) MapSource BlueChart Pacific Garmin Part Number: 010-10319-00 U.S. List Price: $216.65 (for domestic US market only) (additional regions available for $159.99 each)
  7. Could it be, you deselected CNNA map , leave only topo 2008 map (which does not support autorouting) , or alternatively, the CNNA map does have the road of your hiking. Either case, a crow fly line will be generated.
  8. If you're to buy a new GPS (or your already hav one) that comes with city navigator map, in short, you have not register your unit on garmin as of Mar 2 2008, then you qualify for the free update to 2009 (but you must register first)
  9. Garmin had a $50 rebate for 60csx in the 2nd half of last year, seems they were trying to fading it out. I'd think etrext vista hcx will replace 60csx, colorado is more of an higer end model based on the price tag.
  10. Hmm, I just acquired a vista hcx 10 days ago. notice the same mapsource planned 24k route download becomes straight line . The issue does not present to my Garmin 2610 and Garmin quest. Autorouting with 24k map on the vista hcx device works fine. But I prefer to plan all my routes @ home with mapsource. To clear the confusion as shown in a previous post, 24k does not distinguish road and trails (not same as track), both are treated as road and can be used for autorouting.
