As newcomers to this game we have posted pics of a full log as "proof". And the CO kindly emailed us stating that he'd rather we state the log was full but not post pics as it gives away the nature of the container. Because we have met him, and he was kind to explain why he didn't want pics, then we had no problem with his request. This was on his urban caches.

I am new to this too. What I've seen locally is if no size is listed, then it could be a ziplock bag wrapped in tape (duct tape, camo tape etc). We've found this type with a wire attached and it's just the little bit of weathered wire you see. But the packet is tucked into a crevice of some sort. And I make use of all the activity notes, hints and photos available. We've been caching for a couple of weeks, but have found nanos (our city is full of these little guys!) and difficulty up to 4. Sometimes it's dumb luck, sometimes is finally figuring out what sort of cache makes sense. AS mentioned earlier, if it has a trackable or contains something, it won't be a tiny nano.

We just started this whole geocaching thing all of 8 days ago. We've had some decent success. We are searching in areas we are already familiar with, doing a bit of research of the caches ahead, reading the activity logs, taking advantage of pictures and hints however they are posted. Hubby (the other half of McSpy) has been picking me up from work and we find one or two on the way home. We've found nanos all the way to 2 1/2 gallon pails! I've started a booklist for sites we've been skunked at but not ready to say DNF. Perhaps too much traffic, too dark, and too difficult but we are going to go back. Also making use of watch lists on some of these to see if it's just us WE are new enough that we are also picky of our locations. Quiet areas to start when we have time to search. And right now it's a team effort. Yesterday, we were totally skunked. Lots of activities that said QEF, park and grab and such. Nope, we didn't find them. WE were rather discouraged. Today we tried again and were very successful Don't give up. And we aren't looking at stats or numbers. For us, it isn't a competition.
