  1. I take it this is TopoMaps122.exe reporting this message? Have you tried MapUpdate? http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/download/MapUpdate.exe ? This will get you a newer version of the maps, and while its still in beta at the moment (due in part to some of the errors being reported by some antivirus packages), it is the prefererd method for obtaining the maps. Dale Thank you Dale - I'll try this when I get home. thank you again for all your hard work Graham
  2. Hello, This is probably a really stupid question, but when I attempt to download the Canadian Topo Map, it appears to download correctly but right at the end I get an error message, "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program." I have a pretty strong hunch that I'm doing something wrong that is probably very simple. Thanks very much in advance for any assisstance. Graham
  3. Hello danoshimano, Thank you for your quick response. I didn't think there would be much difference between the two maps as I believe they use the same data. I think it is just that the map viewer on the Garmin site will only allow you to see a certain amount of detail. When I looked on the map viewer, there were no trails marked in Keji Park. With that in mind, I'm going to order a Legend HCx right now! Thank you again, it is greatly appreciated. Graham
  4. Hello Everyone, I am new to geocaching and have unsuccessfully searched the forum for an answer to the following question: Is the Garmin Canadian Topographical Map as detailed as the Magellan Topographical map? My brother-in-law owns an Explorist, and the topo map he has installed is very detailed. I'm specifically interested in the detail of Kejimkujik National Park in Nova Scotia. I've gone to the Garmin map viewer (on their web site), but when I zoom in on Keji Park, there is very little detail. I don't know if this is because you can only zoom in so far on the map viewer. My brother-in-law has entered all the backcountry campsites on his map and the detail is amazing. I am asking because I am presently using a borrowed GPSr, but want to buy my own and don't know if I should buy the Legend HCx or a Magellan product. Thank you everyone in advance, Graham
