  1. How far away are the waypoints you are downloading? Your gps will only show the nearest 50 waypoints. It will not show anything over a certain distance away (about 110 miles I think). The only way to see them is to search by name.
  2. Why don't you send an email asking for your account to be deleted and then you'll know. I don't see why you're so concerned about getting an answer anyway, you're going to complain about it no matter what the answer is.
  3. The first time you enter 3d view it works, if you exit and reenter it doesn't. After updating my 300 to 2.9 I was getting the blue screen. While on the blue screen, I zoomed all the way in and the 3-D view appeared. It's been working fine since. although it does take a second or so to appear.
  4. There is no volume control on the Colorado and the beep isn't very loud. You can turn it off or on for each of the profiles. When on, it beeps for everything, each button press and using the R n R wheel. You can set it under Setup->System->Tones.
  5. You can already set up notifications for Wherigo caches. Like all the other types of caches, you have to set up a separate notification for the Wherigo caches.
  6. I have a bookmark list of caches within a mile of Metro stations, Link But with a broken foot quite a few of those will be too far from a station. Here is a link to the tourmobile site. This may be your best bet. Like 2Wheel'in said, you can get off and on as often as you like during the day.
  7. What version of Mapsource do you have? Several years ago (I think) Garmin removed the GPS tracking feature from Mapsource. You can download Nroute from their website to show your current position on the maps.
  8. I've tried it on my HTC Touch in several locations and it works well. Like you said it's pretty basic, but it's much better than getting coordinates from your gps and typing them into the WAP site. It would be nice to have some indication the program has started when you tap the icon. It took about 15-20 seconds for the WAP site to open in the browser after starting. As is, I think I'll be pretty happy with it. Thanks for taking the time to write it.
  9. Here's a list of the changes: Changes made from version 2.70 to 2.80: * Fixed issue when marking waypoints in the W Malayan RSO position format. * Added GDA94 and NAD83 datum support. * Fixed importing gpx files from outside of the Garmin\GPX folder.

    Nüvi 550

I don't think any Nuvi's are capable of running a Wherigo cartridge.
  11. You're seeing the html from the cache page. Have you tried updating the firmware on your unit? The early Colorados had the problem and it was fixed in a firmware update.
  12. Your query worked for me as well. You say you ran several queries today. Have you run into the daily limit? When you received an error message, what did it say?
  13. It's already there. Right next to the event date is a link to download the info in vCalendar format. You can set Outlook to automatically open that format.
  14. A "Will Attend" log is just to let other people, including the event organizers, know that you plan to attend. After the event, you can log an "Attended" log and it will show and count as a find in your stats.
  15. You might try removing the card and re-inserting it to make sure it is seated properly.
  16. How far away are the waypoints you are trying to load? Your Garmin will only show waypoints up to a certain distance away, about 110 miles I believe. Try searching by name and you'll probably see them.
  17. Instead of moving the files to different folders, you could change the file extension to something like .gpz on the files you don't want to load. It would be really nice if this could be done directly on the Colorado, but on a pda it shouldn't be much trouble.
  18. It sounds like you are previewing the PQ. When creating the query, select a day of the week for it to run. You'll receive an email with an attachment. Un-zip the attachment and copy it to the /gpx folder on your gps.
  19. The best source of info is g-o-cashers' wiki: Link Here's another document with a lot of good info: Word doc It hasn't been updated in a while, but still has some good info.
  20. The National Mall and surrounding area has the most caches by far. Most are virtuals, but there are some traditional caches nearby. Here is a bookmark list of caches within a mile of DC Metro stations. You can easily spend a day on the Mall seeing the monuments, and most of them have virtuals right there. Be prepared to walk a few miles.
  21. The cacher probably posted the wrong type of log and then edited the log right away. It won't show that they changed the log and cache owners don't get an email when a log is changed.
  22. The Colorado will hold up to 2000 geocaches, but will only read 128 .gpx files. If you load more than 128 files, they will show up in Mass Storage Mode, but won’t show up on the map or in the geocache list. It is much better to use pocket queries to load large numbers of caches.
  23. It appears that you are clicking the link in the email to preview the pocket query. Use GSAK to open the attachment and you will get the .gpx file.
  24. They're in there. When you search for the nearest caches, your gps will only show the closest 50. If you search by name, you will see them all.
