  1. I had a similar issue. Changed browsers and everything worked fine. Went from Safari to Chrome
  2. sweet! I guess moving my files from the Mac to a PC is easier than trying to get an .exe to run. Glad I have both available. Thanks for the link!
  3. If I understand you correctly, I do the same thing.... Just sometimes when I know I'm going to be away from the computer, I'll prep 5-6 days worth of PQ's, and downloading (OS X), sorting, filing, renaming 30 files is tedious..
  4. I've found that managing my PQ's is a pita. I have to pull them from email (gmail), onto my HD, relate the email title to the number of the PQ file, rename the file and rename the gpx. It would be great if I could name my PQ "New Hampshire 0509" for example, and have it come to me as New_Hampshire_0509.zip and New_Hampshire_0509.gpx...
  5. I've been caching since '03 and have no hides. To each his own. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/Default.aspx?id=153560
  6. GC4C81. Out on a successful 21-find caching day today, most were the forgettable guardrail style hides Later in the day, we came upon a cache called Deer Leap Gas Saver. It took a while to finally locate the parking area, it was down a dirt road disguised as a driveway .. Parked, and located the gas saver without much trouble. Signed the log, traded swag... and headed off for the other cache. Well, This is what we found What is that? Funny red dots... Hmmm.... Those look like - thumbprints?! Red thumbprints way out here in the middle of nowhere Uh, oh... over there - on that rock... what is that? Umm... those are definately red handprints. [break] Now I've seen my fair share of CSI, BONES, Cold Case to recognize this red substance. I'm thinking blood, and we are definately not terribly comfortable in this secluded location.... [/break] bloody red handprints... can this get any worse??? .. I'm gonna be sick... I think I smell something funny Yeah... that's a big bloody rock... oh no... what's that... over there... under those leaves? Then I hear... "Ewww.... what's THAT?! I turn, and find the source of the smell ....... ..... There were two huge bones, approx 2.5" to 3" in diameter and about 8" long - so I'm thinking it was some part of a cow leg or something - but that doesn't account for the intestines
  7. I've been playing off and on for 4 years. Started with a monochrome Magellan SporTrak Pro GPSr without the ability to tie it to the computer. I printed up cache listings, manually input the coordinates and set out. It works fine, but the most annoying part was spending the time inputting the coordinates, and from time to time, transposing a few digits thereby putting me in the complete wrong area for the hunt. It no way compares to the game when you can run a pocket query, have those files sitting in the GPSr, and hit the road - Now, this is not quite the same as paperless caching - you are taking a chance that if you didn't run your PQ properly, you will end up with inactive, deactivated, old cache listings, you won't have anything more than the coords and hint and that's it. With the expansion of the game and the thousands of garbage caches out there, specifically picking a cache by the listing and heading out for it is 100% more rewarding than having everything loaded and seeing "oh, there's another magnetic LPC here at the rest area, might as well grab it". The only thing I will not give up is the ability to load the cache info without having to manually input everything (aside from the typical Multi and Mystery caches []. The electronic compass definately makes it easier when you are in an area where you can't always move 12ft or so to get a good reading.
  8. Nobody is going to discover it. It won't show up on any cache search. It doesn't come up on Google Earth.. Great - you gave the coordinates, but unless you are looking for this specific bug, you will never happen across it
  9. Hiya all. I just picked up this 'TB' in Virginia today.. TB137V6 (http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=18b86555-bc59-461b-b9bd-f57d49b36949).. Only problem is... it's not a Jeep, it's a picture of a jeep... In fact it's THAT picture of a jeep, laminated with the TB tag and ID number on the back of the laminated card. I emailed the original releaser regarding this 'find'... I guess someone took the pic, and the ID (which shouldn't be showing) and created their own version of the TB.. thoughts on what I should do with the card?
  10. Most consecutive days with finds: 10, from 9/4/2003 to 9/13/2003 Most consecutive days without a find: 1089, from 7/22/2004 to 7/15/2007 1089!
  11. I must say I am a very satisfied repeat magellan customer. My first was a SporTrak Pro, which I have logged over 80,000 miles on. Just upgraded to an eXplorist 600 and I am very satisfied with both. I've been using Magellan GPSr's for about 4 years now, have recommended them to others, and everyone I have introduced to Geocaching are having a great time logging finds with their Magellan GPSr's.
  12. Seems my membership was automatically renewed through a Paypal transaction. I didn't know that anybody could pull money from me through paypal without my approval. Is this some option that may have been chosen when I originally joined?
  13. Mine changed from attbi.com to comcast.net but that's in New Hampshire.. I would give it a shot though.
  14. A travel bug is a dogtag.. with a unique serial number. A lot of times these 'bugs' have hitchhikers attached to them.. these can be anything.. Toy cars, toy animals, keychains, just about anything can be attached to the bug. Most people consider the hitchhiker to be the bug. I know I do. These bugs are tracked via this site by their unique serial number. When you find a cache that has a bug, feel free to bring it with you. When you get back home, or to a computer, you log the cache as found, then click on the link to the bug in the upper right corner of the cache page, and that will take you to the bugs page. Then log the bug as found. You will need the unique serial number, as a sort of key to log the bug. The site will then remove the bug from the cache and place it in your inventory. When you take it to drop off at another cache, you will have the option on a pull down menu when you log the cache of placing the bug there. The site will then register on the bugs page that you dropped it off, and show it on the cache page that it is there. It will then compute the distance the bug travelled from the last cache to the present cache. Some bugs have travelled thousands of miles. Many bugs have specific goals, and if you can help it on it's way.. great. If you can't, you don't have to take it out of the cache. It's always good to have an idea of the bugs goal before you take it with you from the cache site.
  15. test <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse: collapse" bordercolor="#111111" width="100%" id="AutoNumber1"> <tr> <td width="50%"></td> <td width="50%"></td> </tr> </table>
  16. Ray, Sent you an email.. TB's are on the way. -Ken
  17. Seems like you are challenging the pirates.. If your caches were not targeted previously, I wouldn't be surprised if they become so. -Ken
  18. Count me in.. I'm a newbie, but not a pirate! You can truse me.. I have 60 posts! But seriously, I would like to be added to the list. -Ken
  19. Since there are so many news stories about pedophile predators on the internet, I've often wondered what kind of kid is out there that these people prey on.. Is it possible that there are a lot of pre-teens that are as incredibly stupid as this kid appears to be? I doubt it. 12yrs old is 7th grade! I remember being in 7th grade thinking I was an adult. This kid and his posts just don't seem authentic. Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles??? How many 12yr olds would really know about them? the TMNT's were big in the late 80's early 90's which is about the time this kid would have been born. Now, if the kid claims he's from Keene NH, you know the cops are trolling for criminals (which I have absolutely no problem with).. One specific cop in Keene has nabbed like 40 predators from New England.. All of them corresponded over the internet, then drove to Keene to meet the kid! -Ken
  20. Here's some here here here here mostly dog toys, and nothing that really stands out.. -Ken
  21. quote:Originally posted by Mzee & Associates:I have e-mailed the # for the TB to Joe, here is the addy for the institute, http://www.dana-faber.org (web-site) perhaps you could contact them and clear up some of the "Befuddelment" as what it is where it's been ,etc. etc. ~~~ ~~~ "And now where" ~~~ Hey Mzee, A co-worker of mine spent most of last year at dana faber for lukemia. It's an interesting goal for a TB, and I'm glad it made it. BTW, apparently you know my kids grandmother, Team GeoRacing there in Yuma.. Small caching world we live in. -Ken
