Incredibly sad to find out that benchmarks on Geocaching are going away. I'd much rather use old datasheets to track down a physical survey disk—a tangible part of history—than answer questions in a virtual Adventure Lab. Maybe more players would use the function if it hadn't been hidden away on the site; I only found out about it myself last year, and though I haven't logged as many as some users here it's always a delight to find benchmarks out in the wild. I understand that there are technological reasons behind the change (to update code/make room for a new project), but given that the latest new feature was ALs I can't say I'm looking forward to whatever is coming next. I wish HQ would reconsider.

Hi! My brother collects enamel pins and just bought his first geocoin, so I've been thinking about gifts for him that could combine both hobbies. Does anyone know if Groundspeak or its associates produce trackable enamel pins for hats, bags, etc.? I've been Googling for half an hour and all I can find are the non-trackable milestone and achievement pins. It would be nice to buy something premade instead of commissioning an expensive custom pin or engraving one myself. (If these aren't a thing yet—Groundspeak, get on this! Enamel pins are hot right now, my brother alone would keep you in business!)

This happened to me, too—I didn't see any caches on my local trail listed on the website and got excited about hiding one there, but when I checked the planning map the whole area was covered by overlapping red circles. I'm bummed that I won't be able to put anything there for non-Premium members like me. I'm glad you found another spot that worked for you!
