  1. Confirmed. GSAK.net is currently down. I'm not sure what the problem is but have submitted a ticket. GSAK does have a backup server for Google maps. Go to "Tools=>Options=>HTML", then in the drop down box (Google Map Server) select "http://gsak.info"
  2. Tell me how!!!! That way my friend and I can hit a closer town on a cache run! We have picked a numbers area to stay away from unless we are caching together but we have found most of them now. See the "Group caching" macro here
  3. I have been a GSAK user for years. I just gave the filter – log, sort a try and it works beautifully. Thank you for the help. I’m always learning new uses for GSAK. You may also want to look at the "Group caching" macro that was created for exactly this purpose. You can find it here
  4. Yes, a good feature request! However, Another work around if you are using GSAK is the "group caching macro" which can be found here
  5. GSAK 7.5 allows now allows you to load csv files. So if you are using GSAK 7.5 you could just load the CSV file into a new database then export that database to GPX For more information see http://gsak.net/help/hs5270.htm
  6. Jreds, I notice your Detect_Nuvi subroutine loops through the drive letters using FileExits() to detect a connection. This can throw the "Windows no disk" error on some systems that have "ghost" drives (Usb card reader with no mounted cards for example). Check out the macro function gspinfo(). This function will allow you to detect the drive letter of the Nuvi, and has special internal code that eliminates the "Windows no disk" error.
  7. For a good explanation of why your centroid may not be where you think it should, please see this post
  8. If you don't mind running the 7.5 Beta, the load dialog now caters for CSV files. For more information see this help topic
  9. It sounds like you are downloading the PQ from the preview page. This will only give you 20 caches at a time and only in LOC format (which has very limited information), not GPX (which has all the extra information) You must submit your PQ to run and then it will be sent to you via email. When you receive the email, then load the attachment into GSAK For a good tutorial on setting up PQs see http://www.markwell.us/pq.htm
  10. Attach the eXplorist USB cable and plug it into your computer. Turn on. The eXplorist screen will ask you which mode you would like to use. Select File Transfer. The eXplorist will now appear as a removable disk (E:, for example) on your computer. GPS=>Export to Magellan explorist. Make sure the "Required format" is Explorist Geocaches. In the "file to create" box, enter location where you want to save the eXplorist geocaching file. Navigate to E:/Geocaches and save the file there. Unplug the eXplorist and turn it on Click Menu, pts of Interest, Geocache Pts.
  11. To get an exact copy of GSAK from one computer to another: 1. Make sure the same version of GSAK is install on both computers 2. Do a File=>Backup on the source computer. Select all databases, and make sure you tick the "settings" box 3. Do a File=>Restore on the destination computer (use the file generated in step 2). Select all databases, and make sure you tick the "settings" box
  12. There is a GSAK macro which is fully TOU compliant which has been specifically created for this purpose You can check it out here here
  13. Yes. Please see item 14 of the GSAK FAQ in the help file or online here http://gsak.net/help/hs1070.htm#FAQ14
  14. One other possible explanation that has not yet been provided is "pilot error" I can't find it at the moment, but there was another thread a while back with a user that had exactly the same problem. That same thread explains how easy it is to inadvertently "move" the cache while panning on your GPSr and hence change the coordinates.
  15. Please see item 3 of the GSAK FAQ in the help file or online here http://gsak.net/help/hs1070.htm
  16. No, GSAK will look at ALL your logs in your database for this log. Of course, there in lies the answer to your question. A PQ only returns the last 5 logs (plus your own), so if the "Needs Maintenance" log is beyond this GSAK won't see it unless you have accumulated more logs or downloaded a single GPX file from the cache page which does include the last 20 logs (plus your own). Either way, if the log is beyond the scope of the logs you currently have stored in the database, GSAK won't know about it.
  17. Try http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=...ost&p=57435
  18. It could be as simple as having a corrupt download of the Google Java script. Because the Java script is cached you keep getting this error. Try a hard refresh (Ctrl-F5) as see if it comes good.
  19. I think this issue could be because the special tag %shortname is being used in this macro, and %shortname was not aware of the options set via "Tools=>Options=>General" The latest build of GSAK addresses this. You can download here
  20. You must first recalculate your smart names after this change (only have to do this once) "Database=>Recalculate smart names"
  21. Beautifu! Thanks JP! I don't know how I missed that attatchment. When I try downloading it to the Colorado 300 though I get the message: Garmin:Can't init Com3. I'd work at this if I had the time but I'm leaving for a very remote area tomorrow morning for two weeks and there will be no Internet or cell phone coverage there. Wish I could have this ironed out before then. Again, many thanks for the help. I really appreciate it! The Colorado is very different in this respect and communicates as a removeable hard drive that accepts GPX files So just go to "File=>Export=>GPX" and send the generated file to the Colorado For a more advanced solution try this macro http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=...ost&p=47524 Discussion can be found here http://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=...ost&p=47522
  22. First try taking the option "Database=>Repair/defrag" Also note that the "Found by me date" will only be updated automatically when: 1. Your GSAK database is being updated with GPX files from gc.com (not loc files) 2. You tell GSAK correctly how to match your found logs. To get item 2 correct make sure you have the "method for matching hidden and found" caches filled out correctly (Tools=>Options=>General). For more information see the help file or view this section online here http://www.gsak.net/help/hs7690.htm
  23. If you load your PQ via a macro, then you can stop the state from being overriden. Load Settings="my settings" Lock=$d_State For more information see the Load command in the help file or online here http://gsak.net/help/hs21390.htm
