  1. Now, somebody needs to do something about this:

  3. For the first time ever, I have one that's taking a few days. The reviewer wanted to be careful on this one, and I'm having some trouble with my local contact and the holiday, etc. It happens. But usually - anywhere from 2 hours to two days.
  4. I suspect that you would become a baninated member pretty quickly if you posted another geocachers contact info. -now that you've had a few comments...... first, I agree that it was probably immature judgment that put a t.b. hotel on a #5. BUT (see red above) what is YOUR statement revealing about you?? You can't control all the decisions others make. And, as a general rule, they aren't fatal. relax. You aren't the gc police, nor judge and jury.
  5. The green, of course, is for the earth. The blue was a strange attempt by one committee member to get green. The orange and yellow were suggested by a freshman art major looking for balance. You've already read explanations about the yelling satellite face on the trail of the default waypoint icon.
  6. I find it interesting that in 4 years I have never heard anything other than sigh-toe (Maybe it's an Ohio thing.)
  7. This brings up a question I have: If we archive 3, we can put 3 new ones back in the park for the CITO. Should we do that for the Cobey Parkj Cito? How many caches would be best to have to bring people out?
  8. Tadpole? really? To the approvers: Peacetrain was the one who suggested the cito.
  9. Had the problem. Keep a clip or a ribbon, some marker on yours. The old bottle of White Out makes a good lasting mark.
  10. I knew you'd move it, but for a while the topic still shows. -What we're considering is archiving the 3 existing Cobey A, B and C caches because there's no room for more, then putting up new ones. We can probably get some more out in the area, too.
  11. Last week we had our first event, a Meet'n'Greet. GC13F10. The primary local group plans to run a Cobey Park CITO in the Fall. No budget. We're thinking pot-luck picnic. Trying to put out a few new caches in the area for it. I'm thinking some prizes like: -largest piece of trash -most unusual item - fullest cito bag (don't know what prizes could be yet) any important things, ideas??
  12. I'd say, let 'em go, it doesn't matter. Yesterday someone claimed a smilie after viewing the first step of a 3-stage. The name's not in the log. To me it's just not worth the conflict, 'cause it doesn't matter. It's a game, and no one loses anything.
  13. I've been in large groups with various equiptment often. Accurancy of units just isn't an issue. They pretty much all do the job. Maps might be the issue. I like the elec. compass. Some acquire more quickly, or do a better job indoors....... but accuracy isn't the issue. And yes, the yellow one is a dependable gpsr.
  14. No, though there IS an old garmin gps 45 laying here in the dust. White. Yesterday I updated the software at the Garmin website. Today things are the same, and I got the garbled blackscreen again. Step II will try the hard reset. I hope I don't have to load the map program again.
  15. One space in the wrong place...........I tell ya! -thanks for the reset information. This means that the memory is saturated????? I'll do it soon.
  16. My Vista has been well-treated, is about 3, no scratches or dents. Lately and Yesterday: -lately it has seemed "delayed" or sluggish when I push "find", "waypoint," "nearest." That has made me wonder about it. -yesterday, the same, but for the first time I got a garbled black screen when the batteries ran low. Changed batteries and it seems fine, but still sluggish. any thoughts?
  17. Seems like that would be hard to avoid, if we're going to find caches. I do think I'll be able to recruit a "helper" so we can help more ladies.
  18. Other then going to the grocery store, no I don't leave the resort. Why should I? The malls don't have anything that I need or can't order online or via mailorder catalogs. No, I have never had a picture taken where I was dressed. Why should I when it is so unnatural and totally the opposite of who and what I am? That would be like asking you if you've had a nude picture taken in a social setting. And that's why we were talking about a lack of caches in and around nudist venues. As a lot of us prefer to leave only when absolutely necessary. Is that really so strange? Sally By all means. Feel free to stay.
  19. I was busy yesterday, we had our very first local event last night. It was nice. A bunch of people who found geocaching. GC told us what kind of caches would be allowed on Jeremy's equiptment. We said, "OK," and now we have fun. Once in awhile someone drops by who can't have fun our way. Their loss.
  20. I do not think I would have responded. He has a different view. Perhaps I would have invited him to edit his comments, just to keep political positions out, but then, perhaps you'd have to edit the cache page. By speaking ill of your geological knowledge, he certainly made it a personal attack. But he's probably a park employee/ranger, and was threatened by your views.
  21. From the responses, I'm expecting to be very elementary in my presentation, brief, then hunt a couple of caches.
