  1. I loaded this software on my PC for a Streetpilot c320 and was hoping to use it on my 60cs. When I try to install a map it says my GPSr doesn't support this. Anyone know of a way to make it work? Anyone ever bought Microsoft Streets and put it on a 60cs? Mike -full o' questions today
  2. I think the true answer to your question is this: Public Opinion If a cache gets approved that is TRULY dangerous, folks start talking it up in the logs, forums, and PM's to each other and the cache owner. One that is truly dangerous won't be out long...As for the one in Washington, I think the logs speak for themselves. While not quite over the line, the dangers are VERY apparent... BikerMike
  3. Your kids go caching without an adult? Do they steal the car while you aren't looking? If kids are too young to drive, they aren't getting to the cache without an adult present. Surely that adult would be able to say, "Hmmm, this cache looks too dangerous, maybe we should try another instead." That's what the parent/adult is for, to make the informed decision. Its not anyone else's job to watch your kids. It's YOUR job. If your kids are old enough to drive, then surely they have the sense to decide on caches. Or maybe the responsible/concerned parent would pre-approve caches for them, or even better, go along with them. Its a bonding experience, geocaching CAN be a family game. I have three teenagers at home myself. If I load them up in the car and say we're going geocaching, they grumble, but as soon as we start closing in on that first cache, they start getting excited and running to see who finds it first. This is a technical game which takes a lot of thinking to pull off and find these caches. If you can do that, then you certainly have the brain power to figure out if a cache should be done, or walked away from. There aren't a whole lot of stupid cachers out there, running the GPSr's, PDAs, computers, etc... shows that... BikerMike
  4. Has anyone done a search for caches in the immediate area where her car was found? Maybe trying to trace where she might have been heading would help. Just a thought, hope this all turns out for the best.... BikerMike
  5. Like every good cache, there is a right way and a wrong way to approach. The only one in Waco I can think of even remotely sounding like your description of a tough cache is "MCC River View". And if you approach it correctly, you need no special equipment, if you don't, then yeah, you might want some equipment. Personally if I think I need equipment, I look for another route in. In fact, I did it one cold morning holding a cup of coffee. The other is in Whitney called "Tie Me Off". Tricky yes, but Sawdust and I did that one together and took no special equipment. If you'd like, tell us here which cache it is, or send us a private mail. Maybe we can help you out with an explanation if there is a different way to approach the cache. BikerMike
