  1. Or come along to Going Wild in the Wild West You wont be disappointed
  2. Me thinks that you are way too sensitive bazzer1975, it's just a game and it's best to treat it as such. If people don't like your cache and leave a negative log, then so what, who is hurt? Either ignore it and accept that there taste in caches is different to yours or learn from it and improve your caches if required. However it really is not helpful accusing people of being "Cache Police" for logging a needs maintenance. This puts people off of logging them, which is not good for caching. If COs don't know that there is a problem it's unlikely to get rectified.
  3. But isn't that why we have a needs maintenance option. People should not be frightened of using them for whatever reason be it poor maintenance or unfortunate incidences, and certainly should not be accused of being cache police. If I can I will always try and repair a cache in poor condition but if unable to I will log a needs maintenance or a needs archiving if been like this for a long time. I recently had a log on a cache ranting on about the wet log, well this was news to me as I had not had a needs maintenance log, not even from the ranter! I rectified this by raising a needs maintenance log on it myself so any visitors before I can maintain will be aware of its condition.
  4. Was a little surprised to see one of my old, now adopted and since archived caches on the list. If we were to remove all the London caches it would draw a significantly different picture.
  5. Well said Geoff, however you do worry me a bit with your count , you realy need to get out a bit more; oh you do get out a bit don't you . Have a great new year and may all your logs be dry ones
  6. You could get some little stickers that you can stick on the outside of the container, this could save you a few more seconds per cache!
  7. In short I would say probably yes as there are plenty of these in existence, however they might not comply with current rules guidelines and are grandfathered in. I would suspect that the clues would need to be obtained without entering the premises. Not sure about using names this does seem to be variable, however you will not be aloud to state things such as "the ale in this pub is very good". Your best plan of action is to contact your local reviewer who will give you chapter & verse.
  8. They got theirs off of ebay and it was a very large batch in the many 1000s which I believe filled the garage and any other available space. I'm sure that if you were to contact them you would be able to negotiate a discount for bulk.
  9. Re-Listed due to time waster Full details - on ebay
  10. FOR SALE GARMIN GPSmap 60CS Full details - on ebay
  11. Thats what I do at the mo, but the flask/water doesn't keep its heat after a 4+ hours. Two flasks. One with me. One in the car for use on return. But. Must admit, the thought of being able to 'Brew up' on return to the car had crossed my mind on more than one occasion! I looked into the possibility of getting a microwave for the car, so I could have hot pies. I think this is what you are looking for - The WaveBox
  12. I suspect what you are after is available from The Cache Hoppers or PopUpPirate
  13. Don't worry about the unpacking you've got years to do that [], just get yourself over to Devizes.
  14. I have organised a small camping event at Devizes GC3T8R for the August BH weekend, not far from Stanthews "THE WILTSHIRE EVENT #25 – SECOND ANNIVERSARY". Anyone from out of the area who would like to make a weekend of caching in this area with lots of high quality caches and attend Stans legendry event might like to join us at Foxhangers campsite. Not many pitches, so don't leave it too late. The listing is a bit sparse on info at the moment, but I shall update it this evening when I get home from work.
  15. Once upon a time, many moons ago, I had the target of clearing my home county (Oxfordshire at that time) and was actually doing quite well until the rate of cache placement started to increase quicker than I could find them and an evil local cacher (2202) placed some puzzle caches that were way to difficult for my feeble little mind. That soon became a pipe dream, but now seems totally inconceivable that I had ever considered it; how things have changed!
  16. There was a recent change to the Event logging requirements. There does not have to be a log book and if there is, you don't have to sign it. Is that what you're thinking of? Mark I didn't realise that there used to be a requirement for an event log book. There was a change in the open to all requirement allowing events at such locations as campsites to be closed to campers only.
  17. Thanks Chris, realy could do with this asap so fingers crossed.
  18. Lets hope so as I have plans for new caches to be placed this week in the Cheddar area which features heavily on the Magic site.
  19. Doesn't seem to be working for me today , is anyone else having problems. No planned outages for today listed on the website.
  20. Oh dear, where do I start Work Train Dinner Bed Party Holiday and the list goes on and on
  21. this ring always get good logs, not difficult but interesting containers and very good for kids.
  22. Nothing personal, my reference was to an incident which occurred before you joined the committee. IIRC a note had been posted on my event, the standard cut'n paste note such as "This event has been added to the GAGB Calender". After I deleted the note a second one was swiftly posted along the lines of "This event has been REMOVED from the GAGB Calender" along with the follow-up email. All water under the bridge now but I still view these comments as spam - you are basically a third party posting unsolicited links. Furthermore looking at how little use the GAGB forums has had recently I think it's fair to say that those notes do more to promote the GAGB then the actual events. Nothing wrong with promoting the GAGB, I just like people to be honest with their intentions. Obviously not water under the bridge as you obviously still have a problem with the GAGB and particularly their event calendar as was the case a couple of years ago as can be seen here. Are you surprised that your event was removed, you obviously did not want it listed there anyway. Dammed if they do, dammed if they don't.
  23. Im probably biased , but LQ Bristol is a rather nice cache'n'dash
  24. Where does He do that? In his log on the cache and this one I'm sure that they're not, and no doubt they do, but then again that's not the point Madyokel was making!
