I noticed "Columbia River Bend" is on your list. It was archived back in March.

I bought my etrex in Jan. of '01 for hunting trips. And there it sat in my closet until I found a link to project ape from the Planet of the Apes movie web site. I have used my etrex hunting once. And for geocaching, alot!

Wow, what a great time at the BM Saturday night. It was great to meet everyone. And thanks to Expolsis for taking all of us to do the after dark cache. I hope to see everyone at "the search" on May 5th. Oh and a speacial thanks to McMenamins for the slight headache Sunday morning. lol

Helping maintain someone elses cache by putting the log book in a plastic bag or sharpining a pencil, etc.. is a great idea. I always try to leave a cache better than I found it. And I think most other cachers feel the same way. As far as altering a cache,( by changing it's location or turning someones virtual cache into a micro-cache) one should get permission from the cache owner. Unless it's an emergency situation, and helps keep the cache from being lost altogether. One should always check on there cache's peroidicly to maintain them, but it sure is nice when others help you and the next finder.

I have 5 caches hidden. One is a muti-cache, one is a microcache, and the other three are normal. The multi cache has you drive 15 miles, then hike 1 mile. Not for children, and not for handicap/out of shape. And one of my caches is 50 ft. away from where you park. And one you need a 4x4 to get there. Each appeals to different cachers. No one group is excluded, And that's what is important too me. I don't plan on anymore hides until one is archived. With a small number like 5, I can maintain them. The only thing I think cachers need to really worry about is over-saturating an area. And I would support a rule like: You can hide one cache for every ten finds. I don't know how that would work logisitly. I wouldn't want us to run out of caches too find either. But I don't see that happining the way things are. 5 years from now there will be "a billion sreaming caches", at this rate.

Where's in a name cache involves converting your user name in coords. My user name(slinger91) coverts into 75d 46.437 when I make that the west coord. that puts me online with Scranton Wilkes/barre area. If there is a geocacher near that west coord. that is willing to help me, we can both log a cache! the cache is:

Which smells better? The overpopulated sun scorched land of southern Caifornia, or the so called "dankness" of the fresh air, tree enriched, yes I have a lawn Pacific Northwest?
