  1. I have a Blackberry 7230 and was happy to see how well the geocaching web site works on this. The 7230 (mine is through T-Mobile service) has a mini java based browser in it, so now when on the road it is easy to pull up the site, search for caches, enter updates, etc....if you have a Blackberry 7230, try the web browser!
  2. Lot's of interesting feedback...throughout all this, I still haven't seen WAAS work on the IQUE3600...Garmin Tech support provided the following: "Being in Minnesota you may have a hard time acquiring it, but that doesn't mean that every once in awhile that it will acquire for you. The satellite is located around the equator south of Florida and therefore can be hard to acquire that far north. To acquire it your best chance would be to have the antenna pointed South to Southeast. If you go to the satellite acquisition page it will be satellite #35 on your screen to see if it is trying to get a lock on it or not. Garmin Tech Support" I continue to try, but also have accepted that it just may not work out...for routing on roadway's it isn't a problem...I was hoping for better accuracy when ice fishing in Minnesota, or other activities requiring more pinpoint accuracy, etc....
  3. I checked the Garmin IQUE 3600 for WAAS and it has a box to check to enable it...the box is checked, but I tried it checked and unchecked and it doesn't seem to matter...
  4. Thanks all for the ideas...and yes, my reference to Minnesota and the equator was concern that this location is too far north to get the signal...sounds like Sat 35 should be viewable though...I'll check for it again, however it still makes me wonder why it hasn't shown up yet...I sent a note to Garmin tech support as well to see if they have some ideas... 5. What keeps me from getting a WAAS connection...I've left the GPS on for hours in a clear area, driven 250 miles (4 hours) with it on the dash, but sitll don't get a WAAS enabled session. I live in Minnesota...too far from the equator?
  6. The Ique has been great on the roads...fast routing, great screen, etc...it runs on the Palm OS 5, but does not support NMEA in/out...so, unless the API trick works, the GPS inside this is restricted to what Garmin provides. I confirmed this with Garmin tech support today. To bad, I think they missed it with this move as they will lose customers over it... Other than that, I do like the unit for driving. Looking forward to CacheMate 2.1!
  7. I have a Garmin GPS 12 that works very well for geocaching. I also just got a Ique 3600. I've read a few posts from others with these that say they are good for geocaching too, but I can't seem to figure it out...took forever to find a place that I can manually enter a waypoint, once that is done routing to it wants to take me via roadways, versus through the woods or over lakes...what are you folks using on this to navigate? The unit does work very well on the road, but I'm looking for something that helpsoff the trail too. Lastly, any suggestions for 3rd party apps that work with the Ique? I tried Geoniche, which looks great too, but can't seem to get it to initialize the Ique GPS... Mark mhenderson@mayo.edu
