I guess an additional reason for the confusion is that there is also some info in another discussion that shows that as a basic member with the intro app I should only be able to see basic caches with a difficulty and terrain level,of 1.5 and lower. But I've been able to see some 2 and 2.5. I'm not complaining, just wondering. Anyway, I'll probably be moving to premium soon enough.

I recently downloaded the intro app to my android device for an outing with our scout troop. As we were having two teams search for the same caches I found different basic caches in my area. When I gave them the geo codes some of the others could not see the caches without being a premium member. I thought maybe it was because they all had iPhones, but then two other participants who had android phones also had the same issue. Later I checked with my user id on my iPad and found the same thing. Some of the ones I can see on my android I can not see on my iPad. But I have not found any that I can see on my iPad that I can't see on my android. Any ideas as to why?
