I love puzzle caches. I'm fairly new to the sport myself, but I've solved one or two. The first thing I do when I encounter a puzzle is ask myself how I'm supposed to get coordinates out of it. Count things. Is there anything in groups of seven that you can get digits out of to make coordinates? The most important thing I've found is to be patient with yourself when solving the puzzles. It's taken me several hours to solve some, but the more I solve, the quicker I get. Plus, to me, solving a good puzzle is a lot more rewarding than finding a magnetic nano in a light pole at the local grocery store.
