  1. Im outdoors as it is, mountain biking. mountain boarding, backpacking, hiking so geocaching hasnt really replaced anything, its more like an added bonus to time spent outside. Now rather then just biking for the sake of having fun, i can also log a cache and add to the enjoyment of the ride
  2. Ive been geocaching for a number of years now, and have collected a fair share of caches (regular, multi, micro, virtual) but i have yet to do a mystery cache. This is in part due to my confusion as to what they are really about. Is there any big difference behind them? Does anyone find them to be in some ways more engaging or challenging than many "normal" caches? Any thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated. Thanks and Happy Trails!
  3. The people i cache with are mostly my friends, but on an occasion or two i have managed to bump into a fellow cacher by accident (mind you i wasnt exposing the cache, i was so far from any path or trail that the only logical reason to be there was for the cache ) Cant say ive ever done an event myself, most have been rather far away from me. If someone knows of an upcoming even in or around Northern Viriginia i would love to know if it! Happy Trails!
  4. First post, but by no means new to the Geocaching world. Been lurkin for a while now, so this seemed as good a time as any to jump in. For me geocachin is an activity to be done with friends as well as alone, thus the name Three Lost Guys, myself being lost Guys #2
  5. i was lookin @ the pics of the shelves some people have and DANG! those r some spiffy pirzes ya got there. I was just wondering where u find these things and how often ya come accross stuff like that. Ive found about 20 caches now and nothing but junk. Is that to be expected? [We're not "lost"...we prefer the term "directionally impared"]
  6. OK, ive found a numer of caches and have even placed one myself. After visiting the caches i was wondering what people consider the best types of "goodies" to recive/find in them. I know i myself am fond of the cahces w/ a theme (such as music, space, army etc). Most caches end up having cache-trash in them however, consisting mainly of little pins and stickers . Im looking for ways to spice up the cache of my own as well as ideas for what to leave in other caches. Any help is greatly apreciated ~Three Lost Guys
