Geocaching regulations in Kittatiny State Park? (NJ)

I would be hesitant to do it where I know the super expects people to ask. It's not a state wide policy, but if an individual super has a policy, I think it should be followed for the best interests of the sport. You don't want to get on the bad side a park super, because you never know whose ear he has. That said, caches have been placed along the Paulinskill trail for years without permission. I'm sure the park knows they are there, but haven't done anything about them. Read into that whatever you wish. Also it depends where along the trail you are going to place it. If I recall correctly, much of the land that borders the trails were secured as WMAs (near where the Paulinskill and Sussex Branch cross). The park super also mentioned his oversight applied to a band of land 50' on either side of the trail. I'd also suggest that you try a friendly approach with the Kitattinny Park Super. It could just be that he and I got off on the wrong foot and you will have better luck. It's certainly worth a try. Hi, How would I go about contacting the super? -

hello, I wouldn't dare call myself an expert, but I do know some . When Geocaching in place with many 'muggles' (Geocaching term for non-cachers) act natural, pretend your GPS is a cell-phone, pretend to be a landscaper, ect, all to make sure no 'muggles' see the cache! Some 'muggles' are, sadly as we all know, theives, if one of these theives find the cache, they may take it! hope this helps, Phil

Hello all, My dad and I are thinking of going to our first GC'ing event, problem is, no campsites left. Dad wants to stay in a hotel, is anyone else who's going staying in a hotel? If so, please post here or PM. I don't want to be the only person outa 250 who stays in a hotel . -
