  1. By my rough count, I have 701 visits and 488 posted waymarks this year. I have taken the past 3-4 months off, for the most part. I hope to get back into the swing of marking soon. I have got too deeply rooted in Munzeeing lately. I didn't set out for any certain resolutions, per se, but think I have had a fairly successful year.
  2. I like the idea of individual waymarks for different pieces ... but how about restricting it to say 5 waymarks at one location per person. That is kinda how a few categories deal with this issue - Woodmen of the World headstones is one that comes to mind.
  3. Why prevent anyone from logging a waymark at all? Why even archive a waymark?
  4. I have 3 Waymarking caches hidden. One is similar to the one talked about here. GC4ARYD - Groundspeak Challenge - Find 5 of all things that Groundspeak has a site for. So you must log 5 Caches, 5 Waymarks, 5 Benchmarks, and 5 Wherigos GC3N5JJ - 1000/100/10/1 Waymark Challenge - Find 1000 total waymark visits, at least 100 categories in total visited, at least 10 in all departments, and 1 department with at least 100 visits GC3GVNB - Indiana Waymarking Alphabet Soup - Find at least 1 waymark in the state of Indiana that starts with each letter of the alphabet I had hoped more people would start Waymarking because of these challenges but it hasn't really caught on yet. There are a few more visits to some of my waymarks, but not many.
  5. I swear by the Chilehead site ... its very nice!
  6. Thanks for the heads up on how it basically works Lumbricus. I will look into a few categories that interest me that I know take a good while to get reviewed. Your advice helps!
  7. I would really like to get into the officer side of things here. I have waymarked for 3 or so years but never took the opportunity to get into the other side of the site. I did look through the open categories at different times but that led to nothing. Is would like to get added into one active group to see how this thing works and see how I can proceed from here. Any ideas on how I should go about this or any offers to bring me aboard?
  8. Some people that do the benchmark category on Waymarking do go to the gc.com database and log them there, but not all people do. Some people use the original benchmark listings as their guide. So to answer your question, all people play differently and not every plays the other "games" like benchmarking, but do it for Waymarking site.
  9. There is a WayMark category called a WayTour that would do this exact thing. The individual waymarks must be created but then you can make a "tour" using the WayTour category!
  10. Just checked Indiana's cities with 10,000 people ... 79 cities qualify, only 3 have no waymarks. I am in the far south of the state and the 3 cities with no waymarks are over 5-6 hours away. Doubt I will be getting any of these anytime soon.
  11. Is anyone with a Waymark Sticker heading to GeoWoodstock next weekend? I have a buddy going down from Indiana and just now got his sticker (not listed yet). He would meet up with others if anyone is interested.
  12. Got my 3 stickers in the mail today. Yay! Now to figure out what to do with them. hehe
  13. I see presenting these beautiful headstones as an honor to the dead not as disrespect. That is just my personal opinion! My father passed away just under a year ago and I have his grave marked as a hobby headstone ... again as a sign of respect. I know others don't share that opinion, and that's fine. It would be a honor if someone would visit it that otherwise would have never seen it!
  14. I am attempting my first "Where's In A Name" waymark. I wasn't sure how abouts to find help and thought I would post something here in case there was a WM'er in Cincy or may be visiting soon. If you are willing to visit St. John Cemetery on southwest side of the city. I need the latitude of W084 34.674 Let me know if you can help me out. (If this is the wrong place to ask for this help, my apologies!)
  15. Can not find any 10;000 cities around me without a WM. No coffee or cookie for me. :-(
  16. Finally in but it took an hour and about 100 attempts.
  17. Anyone else having any trouble logging in on the Waymarking site? I was able to log in here since this is through the geocaching site, but I can't get in to make or visit anything on WM. HELP!!!!! :-)
  18. Glad I am not the only one. I was wondering if something was wrong with my email or my account.
  19. Maxand99, I wanted to check out your waymark challenges that you have but my premium membership is expired and no disposible income to renew. Thanks though ...
  20. Interested in what types of challenge caches may be around in your area that involve finding waymarks. Personally, I have 2 challenge caches for Waymarks. One is a Alphabet Challenge where you have to find a waymark which name starts with all 26 letters. The other is a 1000/100/10/1 Challenge where you have to visit 1000 total waymarks, visit at least 100 categories, 10 in each of the 15 departments, and 1 department must have 100 total visits. I am about to make a 5X5 "X" challenge from the category grid. Is there any other ideas that you may have?
  21. I am new to checking out the mobile site, but when I first signed in, it put me in Texas when I am located in Indiana. Is there something I need to do to get my local wms to show up?
  22. I have been without access to my laptop for a few months. I would like to continue posting waymarks, but the site won't let me upload my pics from my phone. The photos are in the .jpg format which the site says it requires, but they still won't upload. Is there another way to upload the pics?
  23. I'd pay 10 for an android app, that's for snickity!
