  1. Today the prices landed in my mailbox. WOW that was a big surprise , since I completely forgot about it. Taking part in this special race was really great! I had a lot of fun watching the course and in the end I was really exited about keeping my first place on most visited caches . Congratulations to the UK Coin Club for traveling the largest distance! Thanks again to res2100 for organizing the race and thanks to all who donated coins. Ron PS. since the race stopped, both of my coins stopped moving... strange isn't it ? @ParentsofSAM: They didn't land here...
  2. Geocaching Around the Planet
  3. The only caches within reachable "lunch-break-distance" are my own caches, so it is rather boring caching for them day after day .
  4. An excellent question! I would also like to know if this is sanctioned by Bookcrossing.com If not, it might actually be illegal in the U.S., due to copyright violation. We asked Bookcrossing.com and they approved the use of the name "bookcrossing" and the URL on the coin. They didn't approve the "running bookcrossing book", that's why you will not find it on the coin. So... you can buy this coin without being afraid of doing something illegal . Ron (my-geocoin.com)
  5. Adso is right. It is the name of one of the leading characters in the book.
  6. The coins will leave China on friday, so I think that they will be shipped from the Netherlands in one week. Then it depends on the Dutch and US-Post, how long it will take 'till they reach you Ron
  7. Hi Marianne, YES they are! In this very moment they are in a plane somewhere between Hong Kong and Germany, so it won't take long 'till Nacaya gets them and can start packing and shipping. Ron
  8. Here is the direkt link to the coin page: KLICK The coin is completely sold out, but perhaps you can find someone to trade with. Ron
  9. The coins are ready since a few weeks. I asked the sellers yesterday and they told me that they will send the invoices very soon. Ron
  10. To test the spinning qualities of a coin which is made of zinc alloy, I made a test coin. I took a Twin Peaks geocoin, cut a plastic bead in two parts and stuck one half on the coin. The test object The Twin Peaks coin is also 2" large but lighter than the planned spinning top coin, because of the holes on it and its thin outer rim. Then I gave it a turn and looked on my watch. The coin spinned for almost one minute (average 56 seconds) untill it hit the table. So I'm sure that the spinning top coin will spin perfectly . It turned and turned and turned and turned.... Ron
  11. The German Post is even more expensive: Maxibrief International - 50 g............ 3,00 EUR 51-100 g....... 4,00 EUR 101-500 g....... 8,00 EUR (www.post.de) ...and someone has to pay for your PayPal payments too (0,35 Euro + 3,5%)... So if you want to order and don't want to pay that much for shipping, just make an aggregated order with your friends .
  12. YES, they have. They left Germany on September 22, so I think the first ones will show up in about one week. Ron
  13. I use exact the same bubble envelopes as Nacaya did, and as I wrote before: untill now from over 500 shippings only 4 were completely lost. The bubble part is not glued completely to the paper part of the envelope, so it is easier to separate the plastic from the paper part which makes it recyclable. Recycling is one way how we try to reduce garbage and environment pollution in Europe.
  14. Due to technical problems, the completion of the coin has been delayed for about two weeks. They will be shipped around September 22. Ron
  15. I shipped a lot of geocoins to USA and Canada. The shipping times from Europe to oversea are between 4 (!) days and 6 (!) weeks, so if it takes a little longer, just relax and wait. By the way from over 500 mailings worldwide only 4 were lost... Ron
  16. Here you can buy it. The nickel and the gold versions are still available. .
  17. Hello Bernd, I like this coin very much! How many caches did you hide along this route?
  18. I didn't get an invoice yet... did she forget me???
  19. Don't worry, the invoices will be sent soon!
  20. You can also order them all and trade the one(s) you like less .
  21. Res, stay away!!! I like my coin being on the first place... (nevertheless: Thank you Shilo for the updates! )
  22. who cares? . @Nacaya: do you know already what your icon will look like? .
  23. Why? My coin is leading and still in Canada. As long as ist travels from the west to the east coast and vice versa, I don't mind if it doesn't cross the border
