  1. Thanks for the reply, I have the beta software already installed. What I tried to do was update using webupdater as I followed the instructions and it said update was successful but no updates took effect. It really doesn't matter to me if I am using the beta version or not, I am just trying to keep everything up to date.
  2. I keep getting a message after uploading PQ that I have exceeded the 2000 gpx files? how do I go about deleting those from the Oregon without messing up my GSAK files.
  3. Ok, I am kind of new at this so how do you do it manually?
  4. I have Oregon 300, I tried to update though web-updater, but I have the Beta version 3.12 & GPS software version 3.70 loaded and won't allow me to update. Is there a work around to this? what do I have to do get it updates??

  6. I use the garmin oregon & GSAK and love it! I did have a pda and gps but that was still kind of cumbersome, and you had to a few steps and had keep both update. With the Oregon it like a one step process down load query and off you go.
  7. I am sure this question has been asked before, But how do you delete caches and mainly the found caches out of the oregon? The only thing I can find is that I have to delete my GPX files between my computer and the GPS?? If this is the case what will that do to my GSAK files?? will it screw up my count (etc) Any information would be appeciated. Thanks Harry
  8. I did a firmware update on my Garmin 300 from V 2.30 to V 2.80 and now I cannot get my macro to work that transfers data from the oregon to GSAK. I get a message that says "Cannot find Colorado input file" Now prior to doing this update it worked just fine. Anybody have a suggestion or a fix? Thanks!!
  9. I have the Garmin Oregon and have a question about importing found caches from Gsak to geocaching I read somewhere that you can do this not sure if it is part of the macro or not? trying to eliminate my finds entering information twice. Thanks!!
  10. Yes I understand that, I already have the TOPO 2008 DVD so depending where I am at and what I am doing like Atving in the back country or caching on the road at least I am covered. Thanks for the information.
  11. Thanks for the information. NA-NT 2009 is it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting some quack spin off program and it truely was from Garmin /MS.
  12. I purchased the Garmin Oregon 300 and wondered what mapping program some of you are using? Found City Navigator NT 010-10816-00 but am finding various formats of it online. All made by Navteq, some says Mapsource on it while the other says DMTI What is the difference between City Navigator DVD and City Navigator NT on DVD? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Have purchased the Garmin Oregon 300 and wondered what mapping program some of you are using? Found City Navigator NT 010-10816-00 but am finding various formats of it online GPSNOW.com and AMAZON.com both have it but the covers are different. All made by Navteq, some says Mapsource on it while the other says DMTI Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Oh yeah, what is the difference between City Navigator DVD and City Navigator NT on DVD?
  14. One last question on paperless caching on the Oregon 300. I see you limited to 200 gpx files which is plenty, but when you go geocaching there is some information that will be helpful like type of cache, difficulty level, terrain level, hints, and sometimes the past couple of logs can also be helpful too. I think most of this information is contained within the GPX file, but how much information will be displayed on the Oregon ?? I know other GPS that are capable of paperless cache and will only display so many characters, Is this the same for the Oregon ?? Thanks!!
  15. I did a matrix comparison between the Oregon 400T and the 300 The only thing that I happen to notice different between the two is built in memory. The Oregon 300 has 850 MB of memory, and the 400t doesn’t list anything other it says yes. So how much memory dose it have?? I was leaning towards the 400t but I see you cannot print tracks to a pc with the preloaded TOPO program that it comes with. But on the 300 you have the ability to load ms TOPO 2008 (which I already have) or I could load ms streets and trips on a card and use that program if I wanted to do auto routing. I understand you cannot run both ms programs you have pick one or the other. I primarily would be using this for geocaching, also any problems with the paperless geocaching ?? I am a member of the geocaching. I would imagine you still have do pocket queries but do you have to use another program other than geocaching website, or any third party program?
  16. From the sounds of it the 400t will not autoroute becuase of the TOPO But on the 300 you have some options like City Navigator or some other 3rd party software. The 300 it comes pre loaded with a base map will that allow you to autoroute or do you have to purchase City Navigator to do this? Iam mainly going to use this device for Geocahing. Thanks!
  17. With Oregon 300 does the auto routing and turn by turn still function if I install Mapsource topo 2008?
  18. What is the differance between Oregon 400t & Oregon 300? other than the 400 t having preloaded topo maps. I was reading on another board that the 400t will not let you download maps to a pc? But the 300, you can load the latest topo mapsource program and you basically now have the 400t and you able to download maps to your pc. I that true?? Thanks
  19. No I am just looking to download waypoints, and notes for the time being.
  20. looking for software program so I can go paperless that works with palm treo 700w running windows moblie 5. Any suggestions??
