  1. Is there any way (even with a lackey's help) to transfer a past event to a secondary account? I'd like to keep this account clean with only "cache" caches published on it, but an event I made some months ago is the black spot on that list of otherwise caches only. As the system currently works, I could only transfer an unarchived cache, so... ?
  2. Hi everyone, So my problem is I tried GSAK and really loved the ability to run a big pocket query at once and fill the daily limit of 10k caches (instead of manually building 10 PQs in the webpage "by hand"). GSAK also includes the original and corrected coordinates for mistery caches, which is a nice feature that standard PQs don't have. The problem is GSAK replaces "foreign" characters (like russian, japanese, etc.) with "?" signs on the caché names, rendering some of them indistinguishables. I also like to add some emojis on the names of my caches and these are omitted too. My question is, is there any alternative to generate GPX files with original/corrected coordinates and Unicode/UTF-16 characters? If any system allows both I'm willing to ignore the "get info from 10k caches at once instead of ten 1k queries"-thing. Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm curious to hear what (if anything) they say to justify their apparent bogus-DNFing and trackable hostage-taking. I just sent him a verbose message to inform him of the reasons behind deleting his log. I'll report back if I get an answer.
  4. Based on your comments I'll definitely delete the log and send him a message to let him know his wrongs. Thanks for your opinions
  5. That's what I think. What maddens me the most is that it wasn't even on a recent date, but 2 months prior the cache listing.
  6. So, the other day I got mail. The first DNF on one of my caches (I started publishing my own a couple months ago). The text goes like this: It's also dated Feb 24, way before the cache was even published. A quick search through the trackable log (Mutti) shows that "The Youngies" has been doing the same in a lot of places, logging DNFs without even bothering to get out of the hotel. I guess he is so immersed in the TB's objectives he forgot what Geocaching is about. What should I do? I don't really want to keep the DNF log as it isn't a true DNF.
  7. That's quite sad. I really hope the staff look this issue in the future
  8. So, I started working on a copy of the geocaching map on Google Maps for personal usage, and copied the icons from the original map. To make it more clear, I added some custom icons, rapidly Photoshopped. One is for the caches I plan to hide ("blue star", as opposed to the owned caches' "yellow star"), and the other one is "!", for the mistery caches with corrected coordinates (but not yet logged). The "!" icon. Here you can see them on the customised map: [Reference only, not real locations] What I'm wondering is, can we please get an official icon (like the "!") to mark the solved misteries? It doesn't have to look like mine (that's just how I roll), but it could be really useful to distinguish these caches on the map.
  9. I see. I'll probably drop the geoart idea in the meantime, and think about a cache's series. BTW, I'd still like to know how the mentioned caches got away with that. Were they published before a change in the rules regarding max distance? That's a good idea, but too far from what I was thinking, since I've already designed about 20 puzzles.
  10. Hi everyone, I am designing some puzzles for a geoart to showcase interesting places in my city. I decided to focus on green areas (like parks), one for each commune (adm. division here). As the geoart will be in a specific zone in the middle of the city (so it's understandable on the map), the distance from the geoart points to the real places has to be way more than the 2 miles limit. The caches will be hidden within range from the Municipal Office in that commune. (Places are for the example only) The question is: Am I allowed to do this? I've seen a couple of caches that break the "2-mile from reference point" rule, like the antipodal ones ("Go Straight" & "R e f l e c t i o n s") and I'm sure there are some more; so, if I make clear in the description that the cache is within 2miles from the corresponding Municipal Office, even when the listed distance is way more, can I publish that geoart collection? Thanks in advance
