  1. cool.. guys, you and all the posts have convinced me to use my generic USB cig plug...I didnt know, that USB has some kind of standards in terms of voltage output... anyway..this was really enlightening and helpful to me :-) cheers!
  2. ok..but Vista /GPSmap is powered by two AA batteries- total 3 V, and most of the third-party cables come with USB come with 4,2- 5V output, /dont know Amper value/ so it makes me uncertain whether it could harm the unit or not. Since original cabel is bloody expensive here in EU, Im looking for an equivalent substitution, cheaper one which could work as one by Garmin
  3. Hi Guys Does anyone have original Garmin made car power cabel for eTrex units with mini-USB plug? Id like to know, what output values in Volts (V) and Ampers (A, mA) has it. It should be marked on a sticker near the LED light thanks a lot!!! I will appreciate any help.
  4. I could not find any solution for my strange problem with the mapsource - unit communication I own eTrex Vista HCx, ver. 2.60 - lates firmware, mapsource with the latest version - dec. 07. I am constantly receiving an error message from my Mapsource after building and attempting to send the mapset to the unit: " The map set has approximately 1645MB, but there is only 1980MB in the destination /meaning 1GB microSD/, Please select fewer maps and try again" - which apparently does not make any sense since there is an empty 1GB card. When uploading smaller map sets, say up to 100MB, works fine... I tried: changing data card - didnt fix it / upgrading firmware + mapsource to the latest - didn fix it SD micro card formating - didnt fix it Garmin recommends master reset - ?? have not tried it yet Loading the map using card reader -going to try this Did anyone here encounter this kind of problem.. any hints, tips.? cheers
