  1. July 16, 2012 Brand 44, the new owners of Geomate, Jr now have the system back on line. You can update any part of the world. It is so good to see this little gem back in business. Made 7 finds today on caches that were hid in the last 30 days in the Eastern time zone of the US.
  2. July 16, 2012 Check Geomate, Jr. Update page.................thankfully it is back up and running today for all regions of the world.
  3. July 16, 2012: Just checked the Geomate, Jr., Update page and all regions of the world are now listed for update. I was able to update the Eastern USA just like before. Thanks to Brand 44 , the new owners, for making this service available.
  4. Yes: Used mine in Mexico in December 2010. Just downloaded "rest of the world" option before I flew to Mexico. Worked fine. In June of 2011 downloaded Canada and cached for 10 days while on a tour bus. Again, worked fine. When I returned home I just downloaded my part of the USA.
  5. I am very happy with my Geomate, Jr. I started using it in July of 2009, got one of the first update kits, and made about 250 finds before I added a Garmin Venture HC to my collection. It is a great traveling buddy. Stop at a rest stop or some other point of interest, turn it on a "bang" there may be a hide within 50 feet. Gave my 13 year old grandson one for Christmas and he has about 85 finds todate with his. His neighbor who is the same age as my grandson got a fancy GPS for Christmas and he has not made his first find yet because he doesn't have the experience to program his GPS. Once you get out there using the Geomate, Jr., you will find it is a fun addition to hour outside activities.
