  1. I just had some experiance of this. I published a cache in london I had a 8-9 sat fix at final cache location. left GPS on and marked a 1st waypoint which required the finder to solve a puzzle.

The final cache seems to be out about 50m not much you may think but in london it another street so throws people out. managed to update with help of FTF cacher and google earth as I'm in wales on leave at the moment so unable to check myself.

the way point co ords spot on though.

  3. Although we haven't found the caches around and to the North of Ystradfellte we can recommend this area for walking as it's much quieter than the Pen-y-fan area.

Been looking at this and I'm thinking of starting at Ye Ole Survey Monuments - Fan Frynych to Ystradfellte: Sgwd Gwladus doing all inbetween this route appeals because you said it is quieter and also there the Ystradfellte: Ystradfellte Reservoir which would be a great overnight stop off as I'm keen on fly fishing also so taking a light travel rod would make a nice break.

Thanks for those who have given me suggestions. Depending on my progress I may get a hop over to the area south of Pen Y Fan and do That also.

Now all I need is the weather

  4. Hello All,

I'm off work for 2 weeks next week. I'm planning to do a 2 or 3 day expo in the beacons. I'm looking for suggestions on possible routes or must see caches. I'm quite familiar with Pen Y Fan and dont mind doing it as part of the route, but would nt mind discovering another part of the beacons maybe.

    All suggestion gratfully received.

  5. After reading some comments elsewhere I got a need to find out what peoples replies would be [and no it's not a April Fools Joke :) ]

If a set of Stocks was set up at a cache event with a barrel of Wet sponges

i: How much would you pay to have a chuck of one at a fellow cacher sat in the stocks?

ii: How much would you pay for 5 sponges

and the most important question ;)

iii: How much would you pay to throw a wet sponge at a Reviewer sat in the stocks :)

Where would the money made go?

  6. Following Eclectic Penguin post http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=188746

Theres seems to be cache thief on the loose also. 2 caches I've come across both with containers missing and only log & geo calling cards left. The caches are quite far apart to be kids and linked with Eclectic Penguin post is it possible we have a individual set on spoiling our enjoyment in Neath area.

  7. EP contacted me today about all above. I picked up 2 of these Coins from areas concerned. no this got me looking into history of some of these.

The africa coin was dropped off in State Line Motel GCCD3D in the USA as stated in log September 3, 2007 by Team Proline (1081 found)

reading further into the log it looks like the cache has been muggled which would suggest the coin went missing there.

How someone has picked up on this in S wales and re created the coin beats me ( call Muldy and Scully!)

The other one Dusk till Dawn has been confirmed as being a "Coin" by jamesandellen which they left in Motorway Mayhem - M50 J3

Both coins had to double logged by me as they were not logged as being where I found them.

  9. Hi All,

I'm new to all this but been hooked early on, Where it all going to end midnight geo caching up everest!!! ???

My question is that I have a spare set of dog tags that belong to me I would like to send one west and one east and then back to me one day.Does any one have any advice on registring these and would it be a simple job of marking one 1 and the other 2 for example at the moment they are identical.

    Kind Regards

  11. Hello All,

I have put two caches out yesterday which have been found. They where found by same user and commented that both where 90m out. It may be they're GPS; however the people are experienced cachers so I'm wondering if my GPS is set up correct?

I've been using GPS for many years in my line of work and always used Magellan and though basic I've found reliable. Saying that I haven’t need the degree of accuracy required to plonk you on a cache.

    My Magellan is set up

    Co Ord DEG/MIN

    Map Datum GRB36

No one thing I've had to do while posting my co ords is add a digit either 0 or 5 at the end of my co ord as the Magellan only give me so much. But this should still be within 10 m I believe.

    Example

    51 39,56 n

    003 47,78 w

    I would change to

    51 39,565 n

    003 47,785 w

    All help appreciated
