  1. What great line by Marisa Tomei from"My Cousin Vinny!"
  2. I would agree that it is very inappropriate for Geocaching, and I sent a little note to the reviewer, in case they probably did not read the description, asking if they would reconsider publishing it, and request the CO to change the description. It would definately be an uncomfortable situtation for a family with young children, to discover it! Just my 2cents Here is a cache that I don't particularly care for either! GC201H4 It's on the inappropriate side also!
  3. <snicker> OK, let's hear it from you overly sensitive types!! </snicker> That's ME!!! An overly sensitive type. But I still think newbies make rotten cache placers. Sorry, that's my opinion. I like the example recently of the new cacher who had only found one, and was trying to hide a cache on private property using only google earth for coordinates. After 17 coordinate changes it was archived with no finds on it. Last week I was out looking for caches in the Seattle Peace PUzzle series I was so glad to be looking for a series of finds that was all by seasoned cachers. I didn't have to worry about the caches being hidden with an I-phone or anything like that. It was a great pleasure. I knew every hide was by someone with a good GPS who knew how to use it. It was really great. Nice feeling. No guesswork. Just caching. ps. actually i just realized the owner of this thread is one of the two people I went looking for that peace puzzle series last weekend. LOL. We were all talking about how nice it was to know the hides were good ones because they are all experienced cachers in that series. I've been watching a cache that is fitting to this topic! A newbie placed it and after several DNF from seasoned cachers, the Reviewer Archived it and now they are in a yelling match over it! It's been rather humerous to watch! 4. try this website address: http://geocacher-u.com/content/blogcategory/33/58/ this is the one I always use and I usually print it out on Card Stock and then laminate it to look & feel more official! Plus ~ it's fun!

  6. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who is experiencing this problem! I looked for updates, thinking that was the problem, and updated a newer version for my Garmin, and still had the same message: "500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed." I was starting to get worried that I'd have to remove and reload all the software. Hopefully they get it figured out soon!
  7. I am getting a Server Error: 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. I get this message every time I have tried to download the coordinates to my Garmin GPS unit? It only started occurring today! Please correct it? I don't like entering coordinates manually Takes too long!
  8. THIS!!!!!11 All the 'stuff' mentioned in this thread are some of the reasons I just don't mess with Travelers any more. Too much potential for theft, deprivation or other loss, associated angst - & wa-y-y too much extra paperwork. I've seen mention in here of making replicas (i.e. scans or photocopies of genuine 'registered' pieces), laminated for protection from handling, & 'launched' on their journey. This seems to me to be a good preventive measure, since it removes much of the 'attractiveness' of the item, & the token can still serve the purpose it was intended for. If I ever did decide to get into 'em, I think that's about the only way I'd do it. Do others consider this an acceptable practice? ~* I have begun to do that with the newest coins I've purchased and activated. I have had a few go missing, and decided that I would rather keep the coin in my collection and send out a laminated copy. It is less likely to be kept and moved on that way. If something happens to the copy (i.e. muggled cache) no big loss.
  9. thanks for all your input. I understand I am not able to block watchers so I'll just give up on that idea, and only place trackables in caches many miles from the nemesis.
  10. I disagree with you. Dropping a trackable is helping it on its journey. The trackable has an owner just like the cache does. but in this case the cache & the trackable's owner are one in the same. OK? So a TB owner/cache owner is doing what he want sto do with his own caches and TBs. So what? ????? What?????

  12. Wouldn't this just give reason for angst? If the other person feels like they're being singled out, you may make more trouble than you want! I agree with the idea of placing a new cache and making it tough, but I'd never call out another player like this... That's hilarious! I like it!
  13. well that would be all well and good, but in checking the last few coins this person retrieved, they have kept them for months at a time. The idea of having to have a coin or TB to "trade" for another is probably the most universally dissed and agreed upon concept in all of these forums! (As you have seen thus far). I do understand your frustration in this particular case though. Sounds like you have a geocoin icon addict on your hands. I think I'm the first one to mention it, but no, there is no way in heck you could ever block someone from putting your cache on their watchlist. Well, except maybe if you make it Premium members only, and the other person is not a Premium member. yes it has already been marked for "Premium" members and of course this person is a member. So didn't help. May just remove the cache all together and only place the trackables miles away from this persons obvious neighborhood.
  14. well that would be all well and good, but in checking the last few coins this person retrieved, they have kept them for months at a time.
  15. This is fine if you wish to be the owner of what a lot call "TB PRISONS" (a cache requiring someone to leave a TB in order to take one)! TBs are not yours to put rules on, you are risking upsetting the TB owner! I know if my trackable was sitting in your cache because of a rule you try to enforce on MY TB, I might have to label your cache as a prison....if this doesn't bother you, then that's a great idea! Well the owner of the cache was also the owner of the trackable, and they noted that they would like it if the person retrieving the trackable would leave one in it's place. Of course that didn't happen. When we go caching, if we find a trackable, we always leave one for the next cacher. Nothing bums you out more than getting to a cache with expectation of finding a trackable, that was listed on the inventory as being there, and not finding in the cache.
  16. I realize the trackables are to be kept moving, but I don't believe it's right for a cacher to only visit a cache with the exclusive purpose of only retrieiving the coin. Especially when the cache is a multi and this person already knows where the final is, so they just hurry on it to get the coin only. Never leave one. Caches are so much more interesting when there is a trackable in them.
  17. Is there a way to block users from watching your cache? The reason I'm wondering is that I have a friend who has several caches hidden and a couple are watched by a certain user who immediately runs to the caches whenever my friend (the owner) drops a new coin or trackable in it. They of course come and retrieve the coin and never leave one in it's place. Its rather annoying since the purpose of dropping a trackable in the cache is to interest new people to search out the cache.
