  1. Here is one near to where I live, and I hike this trail several times a week with my 2 dogs! http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC42WR0_canine-cache
  2. Nice try, but.....no How much would you want for the "Whole Lot"? If you could get a more accurate count and give me a precise amount of $ you want, then I would have something to consider?
  3. The cache may have been placed too close to another cache (puzzle)? and was not detected until after it was published, so the listing was "retracted".
  4. Excuse me...HUH??? To me, it's EXACTLY what geocaching is about...the challenge of the find! He essentially told me he wouldn't edit it and I was forced to delete it. Was I too quick to do that? I responded to his email: How would you have handled it? Would you have let the spoiler slide? Would you have continued the debate, giving the person every opportunity to edit the spoiler out before deleting it? I know of a cacher who has a couple of caches with clever, & unique, containers. The CO asks not to post any images in the log so seekers will be surprised. It has not worked, there are still finders who think it's okay to post pics of the cache in their logs. The CO has deleted the images and contacted the finder that they deleted it because its a spoiler and they want all seekers to have the surprise. Fortunately, you can delete the image without deleting the log. But I think if the Cacher describes the hide then they should expect their log to be deleted!
  5. Does the "code" start with a "GC"? If so maybe it's a cache itself?
  6. No.! There is no way to search for archived caches. There used to be a way, if you were a Premium Member, you could do a Pocket Query, but that option was removed years ago.
  7. Packaged and ready to ship tomorrow! Thanks for your Purchase!

  9. Here is a link to the reviewer of the cache you are concerned about: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=82dbf47d-7961-48e1-8309-cf1af70fc628 I agree that you should probably remove the cache, at the first available opportunity, and also post a "Log Note" that you have removed the cache to keep it safe. And then email the CO again to let them know you have their cache and also request a "Needs Archived" log on the cache page. That's what I would do.
  10. I don't have one but I managed to find a picture of it!
  11. <b> = Bold <i> = italic <red> = red print <blue> = blue print <green> = green print etc...
  12. It's a way for the owner of the Trackable to be updated, from time to time, that their trackable is traveling. And not sitting idle somewhere.
  13. Do you remember what the name of the only finder was? If so you could try to find the cache thru that person's profile. Also, if it has been archived you can try and look at the caches around the cache you found. Check the logs to see who might have been in the area around the time it was placed to see if there are any archived caches on their list of finds?
  14. Where's a Thumbs Up when you need it!
  15. Being mean to a newbie is completely different than pointing out the rules to a seasoned cacher. I'd give a newbie the chance to answer those questions. A non-newbie, not so much. Besides, I am less inclined to delete Earth cache logs than traditionals and puzzle caches, because the rules for them should be clear to anyone going out to find a cache. I told the CO of the Earthcache, who had the "Newbie" log without the corresponding email, about this forum. They have now deleted the "two" logs the Newbie made on the Earthcache. The CO waited 3 weeks for the Newbie to send the answers and had told them they would have to delete their "found it" logs, because they did not follow the requirements needed to log the Earthcache, and that the pic of the site did not qualify as a find.
  16. I have a geocaching pal who owns a couple Earth caches. A couple weeks ago a newbie logged finding the Earthcache and uploaded a image showing they were at the correct spot, but never sent an email with the answers to the required questions on the Earthcache. The CO emailed the "finder" and told them they needed to answer the questions posed in the Earthcache in order to claim it as a find. At this point the CO has not heard back, but they are hesitant to delete the log. I told them they would be well with in the guidelines to delete it. But the CO doesn't want to appear "mean" to a newbie.
  17. This subject reminded me of a Night Cache I went on a couple years ago. The First stage contained a laser light tool that you had to remove from a specially made box, and then there was a bracket mounted above the "box", on a tree and the instructions in the box stated to place the "tool" in the bracket to find the next stage. So once you placed the laser in the bracket you would then follow where the beam landed to find the next mounting bracket. It was a fun & unique night cache, and once you found the final, you needed to return the laser back to the box. I figured that someday that laser would disappear. I just checked to see if the cache was still available, and sure enough it's "disabled" because the "tool" has disappeared. So, you are counting on each cacher to be honorable enough to return the "tools" to the first stage. If it's easy to backtrack and do this, they will probably do it, but if you have to go out of your way to return the tool, chances are the "tool" will probably disappear. Sorry to say.
  18. I always carry a "Leathermens" tool and a flashlight. Magnet is a good idea also!
  19. Funny you should ask?! I have had this discussion with my geocaching partner a few times this year, after we have encountered another snake! I have had 2 baby rattlesnakes in my yard this year! First time in a long time I have found a rattlesnake in my yard, and to find two at different occasion's?!? Also, we have walked by 3 rattlesnakes while geocaching. All 3 times we heard them before seeing them. Thank goodness they weren't in our direct path but a few feet away. And we have seen several non-venomous (i.e.: Hognose, Texas Rat snakes, green grass snakes, etc) It's been an active year for snakes. Isn't it the Chinese "year of the Snake" this year?
  20. The Necropolis is worth the trip! I highly recommend it!
  21. I once stumbled upon a cache in the Barton Creek Greenbelt a couple years ago that I was unable to find on the Geocaching website. I signed the log and took note of the name of the cache and also all the other people who had signed the log. I finally found the cache owner, but they had not logged onto the GC website in years. My guess was they placed the cache and for some reason never submitted it for review??? At least it did not have any trackables in it!
  22. Very Cool! How much will you be selling them for?
  23. Very Cool! I like it! I have no problems with Proxies! You will still achieve the cool Icon if you Discover or move it! So it's all good!
