  3. I load my different Gpx files for different locations on memory cards I just change the card instead of having to reload the unit. lets you get every thing ready before your trip. just make sure you do not have gpx file in the internal memory this counts against your GPS limit
  4. I got the same issue a random cache some where in the usa many miles away
  5. Run the " my Finds" in pocket queries "You can receive a Pocket Query containing a list of all the caches you have found, along with your log entries. Running this query will add it to the current queue for the day."

  14. There are other aplications besides Geocaching and the Military. surveyors, contsruction rely on GPS for doing there work. They just lined a 36 mile canal near us it was all GPS surveyed for proper slope.
  15. Hi I was in Oregon on vacation almost every cache had these great heavy duty little pill zip lock bags. I talked to some of the local cachers they told me they were available at the Safeway store in the parmacy department. You might check some of your pharmacys in chain stores.
  16. I have set my radius alerts at different settings 3000 ft, 1800 and so on. Some times I miss the cache cause I drove by the turn off . Sometime it sounds like I won the big one alarm just keeps chiming in a cache rich area. My question from those that use this feature what do you think is the best setting . It would be nice to be able to change it on the unit or turn off the feature so you can navigate with out all the alerts. Thanks
  17. Ok I get it export my hides as POIs then they will be seperated from the Geocahe list great ideal. Thanks
  18. Hi was wandering if I was doing something wrong when loading my caches on the Colo. 300 I like to have my Caches on it just incase I need to do matinance I hid them in terain that I just cant walk up to them it all looks the same. My main concern is when I install them they show up as little green caches just like the one that I would be looking for should they be showing up as a different icon. I use the GSAK macro Colorado/Oregon GPX Export Thanks
  19. So, um, where did you load to and what data if your computer does recognize the internal memory? All you are going to be able to load to the card and use with the unit are maps and poi's... After deleting the Geocaches on the unit I used Gsak and it loaded the new ones you still can not see the internal memory . I was able to put all my maps on the sd card with mapsource. after I went to Setup Interface USB mass storage The unit doesn't have any internal memory you can see, that's what the specs mean on Gamin's page where it says " Built-in memory: no ". If GSAK can load waypoints to the unit, then it is seeing the unit's waypoint/track/route memory. You can not mount that memory like a drive. It doesn't sound like you are having a problem at all with the unit except your expectations on how it should work. You no you are right I think my problem is I have been using a Colorado and I can see both drives on it I was geting the vista out for vacation so my wife has something to look at to.I guess I forgot how the vista loads files after using the Colorado. Thanks for your info
  20. I downloaded with no problem did not loose any data. The averaging will be a nice addition for placing geocaches will have to give it a try. heading on a 1100 mile trip. Still have my Vista Hcx for backup.

  23. Well I found a way to get the gpx files loaded I erased all geocaches off the unit and then loaded with gsak It worked but it use to show up on the list of drives. Still would like to be able to see the garmin drive on the Vista Hcx to see how much memory is left.
