  1. I'm a two unit person. Nuvi 750 for the car and a Delorme PN30 for actually finding the caches. The PN30 also does a fair job of routing but I like the larger screen on the Nuvi when traveling from cache to cache
  2. Thanks for the info. They tend to listen well so I figure there will be something available soon.
  3. I've looked through the posts and don't see anywhere if these units can be used. A simple yes or no will be enough of an answer
  4. Well if we happened to live nearby, we would be happy to help you out. Be patient as they will move. Not all cachers want to move things but soon they will be on there way
  5. Yep, the site is back up and better than ever. And yes, please log it!!!
  6. We have been dropping wooden nickels for a while now but just started dropping our new signature Pathtags in those very special caches. We still drop nickels as we have several hundred of them.
  7. Just A window cling on both cars. We've been noticed a couple of times....
  8. If you put it in the right spot it will be a challenge to any who have not seen one like that before but like the others who have responded... Seen it and found it
  9. Not us.... It's a fact of life that many don't have the proper ratings for their caches. That includes us. We try to give them proper ratings but have to tweak them a bit depending on actual comments from the cachers trying to find them. Thats why we wish everyone would log DNF's as it would make adjusting the ratings much easier. We have a hide now that has only been found 3 times and has only 2 DNF logs but the property owner has informed us that there has been a steady stream of people looking for it. Based on his comments and the logs we just modified the ratings. We have found for the most part that in our area the majority of the caches are rated close enough to what we think they should be that it makes no differance. Others may not agree with us, but then you will never make everyone happy. Our idea of a 2/2 cache might be someone else's 3/4 or 1/1
  10. Both It's about equal for us. We very much enjoy the hunt and final discovery of the cache and the places these hunts take us but we also enjoy the logs and comments from the cachers finding or not finding our hides.
  11. Anyone have one?? Do you like it or not and why..... Looking at the NAVONE GPSM2100 as a possible car unit so any input would be greatly appreciated
  12. You must be talking about the bottom of your local bottomless lake... Yes, it would be a wonderful place of deep peace and stillness
  13. What was the cheapest/lowest end unit you ever used? The eXplorist 400 for under $100 Where you still having fun with it? Yes We are still having great fun with them as I bought a second one when My wife joined in Why did you upgrade? Upgrade??? not yet and most likely not for some time to come as both units work just fine and do all that we need them to do We also have a Garmin 12XL that we use as a back up unit and it still works great also
  14. I hear you there... Cost isn't a big deal but getting the features I want is so it looks like more time on line doing research and less time caching
  15. Too bad as other than that it sounded good. It's starting to look like we may need to go with older technology to get that feature... It won't be the first time
  16. looks like a nice unit but can you do multi poi routing with it??? It's main use will be navigating to cache site parking while we are traveling.
  17. Thank You, we will do that Like I said, we are looking for a good dependable unit and we won't be caching with it... We have 3 other units for that
  18. Well that answers a couple of our Questions. Thank you very much Now about the Street Pilot??? Any one???
  19. we don't worry about them but have 9 or 10 so far. Not too sure of the exact number but then we never went after any cache for a FTF ... they just seem to happen If you enjoy it, than have a blast
  20. Well no wonder no one responded.... The post just wasn't there So I'll try again. We are looking to buy an auto GPS. We've been looking at all the ones available and they all seem to be good units with the features we are looking for. What we would like is input from all of you as to what you like and don't like about your units. The ones we have in mind are: Garmin Street Pilot c340 Tomtom one Magellan Maestro 3100 Magellan Roadmate 3000T These selections aren't set in stone so feel free to recomend any one you like and don't forget to tell us why
  21. I would hate to be responsible for a geocide. OK, not entirely true, but here goes... I hope that makes you feel better. Much! That's more like it! Just remember - How Would Jesus Complain? - and you'll be all set in the future! How do you reverse a geocide? Go caching of course
  22. As long as they meet the guidelines there should be no problem. We like to space ours out a bit so there is room for someone else to hide in the area also. But we don't live in a city either
