  1. contemporaneously Wow! A 6-syllable word - I need to add that to my vocabulary . All kidding aside - you had some good advice - its best to touch base with the cache owner on anything in-question
  2. I kind of expected to get killed on this idea of posting finds retrospectivly - I can't believe it hasn't happened yet. We only have a few locationless caches to date but I recently decided to go and do as many as I can - just wondering how to go about it - go & get them with a specific purpose in mind ... or search through old pictures to post my "find".
  3. My specific question is: Is it appropriate to retrospectivly log a locationless cache. For example - I have a cache by the Bearfort fire tower with a picture of Autumn in front of the tower from 2 years ago - is it ok to log this as a find withoiut going back a taking a new picture. In my head, I say "no", I should go back and take a new picture and get the exact tudes. Just wondering what most people would do with these locationless caches.
  4. I really posted this topic to see if there are any "Clear-Cut" rules as to where you can hike - or not hike. I'm really not looking for a sign that says "OK to hike here" With so many new areas being opened to the public it would help if the users of the area knew if they ok hiking where they are hiking (I understand these areas are boardering on privite land - so probably no easy solution).
  5. That was my thought as well. Personally, I wouldn't mind helping out and taking down some of the signs when I visit these areas, but I wouldn't know which signs should be taken down - it would not be a good idea for people to go into an area and "willy nilly" start removing "No Trespassing" signs. It is just a shame that the places are made available for hiking, etc., and people are relucant to walk past the signs.
  6. Are there any established guidelines for these caches.
  7. Can anyone explain why - when the State opens areas up for hiking, etc - they make the effort to post signs (WMA, SP, etc), but never take down the old "No Trespassing" signs.
  8. I would like to meet Tiffany - espically Squealy's Tiffany - what ever happened to her?
  9. I was just going through the NE forum posts. It seems I never congratulated my friend on this milestone - so congrats Mark (and kudoes to Rose for putting up with this addiction of yours.).
  10. My wife is actually running a Breast Cancer event today at a local restaurant. This is about the 6th year she has done it and usually has between 150-200 people attend. Hart - great job posting this.
  11. One of the reasons I try and be pretty descriptive in my online logs is so I can go back & view the details of our searches (who joined us, who found the cache, strange/intresting observations, etc.). Cool idea to have the highlights of all the cache finds in one place. Sometimes I think its just a waste of time to type these lenghty logs ("TNLNSL, Thanks" is much quicker), but once they are done, its nice to have that detail available.
  12. Why was the original topic closed?
  13. Maybe I really don't understand what is going on here since I thought the "icons" were the little smiley faces etc. - exactly what icons are we talking about? I assume the icons are the ones displayed on pages like http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?zip=07463 The direction graphic (N, S, E, W, etc) and the boxes with the red dot indicating the cache container size are new. Team DEMP - Thanks for that info. Those icons are new, but I like them. For all us illiterate users, we can see what size/type of cache it is without opening up the cache page.

  15. I just wish they would make some "snake" icons.
  16. See the post just above - http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...ic=79774&st=0 2 weeks from today. Joe is still worried about the spider.
  17. Neil, I'm just glad you gave me your snake - free of charge - it is now permently on my dashboard.
  18. You guys are killing me - I feel like Chandler when he is not allowed to make fun of anybody - I know there is one person that won't get that one. He He He.
  19. You know ... if it didn't take someone 1/2 hour to cross a stream because there was a little spider in his path - maybe I would have had time to find a couple of more caches .
  20. Nice to see everyone again as well as meeting some new cachers. As always, it was great hiking as a group - there is plenty of stuff to talk about - it makes the time (and distance) fly by. Thanks Avroair for suggesting this hike and thanks to Team DEMP for mapping out this whole thing.
  21. When there are malt beverages at stake sometimes it just does not pay to go out on a limb - so I'll go with Avroair on this one (I know the reward is important to him - so I'm sure he did his reasearch). It's really kind of the way I went with Squealy's guess on the date of Floppy's 3000th find. MALE 35-44 $60 - 100K California Oregon Washington
