  1. Having both, best of both worlds
  2. I first read about it years ago but I couldn't afford the entry cost of a GPSr. Then recently someone on another forum made a post about geocaching and once I realized I could just use my phone and that GPS devices can be had for dirt cheap I jumped straight into it.
  3. Nowhere I would really be happy with. I think that if it won't qualify I might just wait until I have an idea for a different area.
  4. Thanks TriciaG, I have made some inquiries on who to ask for permission and will take your advice when I find out. cerberus1 It's not really a drain pipe I suppose, but a concrete culvert to allow water to flow under a road. I was hoping there would be some pre-existing cracks or some way to hide a cache in there as is but I didn't find any.
  5. I've been thinking about hiding my first cache and I found a nice spot while I was out today but I'm not sure if it would be within the guidelines. It would involve gluing magnets to the inside of a drain pipe. Thoughts?
  6. What I posted was not real coordinates, it was just meant to show the format. I changed the setting to decimal minutes and successfully found the cache! Thanks guys.
  7. I'm new to geocaching and I have myself a new magellan explorist 110. I just attempted my first multi and successfully (I think) worked out the coordinates of the final cache but the format is S32 12.345 E115 67.890. When I tried to enter this into the explorist the format came out like S32.12345 E115.67890 and the waypoint was way out in the ocean. When I got home I plugged S32 12.345 E115 67.890 into google maps and it looks to be correct. How do I enter the coordinates correctly on the explorist?
  8. There's a stargate in WA, just found it this morning https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4FX0H_p32115-stargate?guid=f074367e-18a0-4dde-a949-4c3d3d296fb4
