Yeah, I got a "TFTC" today. Not that I don't enjoy it that people found the cache, but come on, folks. Can you at least say it in real English if that's all you're going to enter?? Maybe I'm just being cranky.

I love it when our caches get lots of good comments on the finds. As much as I appreciate getting DNFs to help us know when a cache may have gone missing, I love getting nice descriptive smileys. What are some of the best comments you've gotten on smileys? What are some recommendations you have for people for making good comments? And don't you love it when you open up your email-box and see a slew of 'found it' messages???

I'm certainly not that worried about my manicure. I generally get tired of my fingernails and cut them off. I'm one of those strange girly/tomboy hybrid women. One moment all feminine and frilly, the next rolling in a mud puddle with my dog. It does seem that there are a lot of femmes out there caching, judging from the response, and that's a happy thing to hear. I've been to events in my area as well and it seemed to be more or less a 70 - 30 split, men to women with most women being part of a caching couple. It also makes me wonder if some ladies are uncomfortable scrounging around by themselves, especially in the more isolated areas. I've never had issues with doing so, but some of my friends have looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned doing winter beach combing on the more isolated stretches.

We got some really good cammo tape at Gander Mountain. It's sticky and not too shiny.

Just wondering how many femmes there are out there in the cache-verse. Also, do you think there is equality out there in terms of the the number of male and female cachers? We have a discussion among my friends that seems to be leaning toward it being a techno-geek activity and therefore leans toward being a "guy thing". I'm a techno-geek gal and am not too sure if that is true...but it may be, looking at the number of women on my floor where I work. What do you all think?

Yeah, I kind of worry about getting carried away in the fun, but since the hub and I generally have our weekends open, and given we don't hide too far afield, we should be OK with a good many caches in our "hidden" list.

I really haven't posted here very much before, not because of hostility, but because I have not taken the time. Now, I have to say that in general I do not visit any forums because of the excessive vitriol. I'm not much on flame wars, so I steer clear of that stuff as much as possible.

We have enjoyed the places geocaching has taken us. As a matter of fact we found one really awsome county park we never in a million years would have gone to without the cache being there. I am also not into hiding things so that no one can find them. I don't like making people log DNFs. If it is a little challenging, that's cool, but making people pull their hair out is not my bag.

Wow, that sounds great and very creative. We want to make up some themed/multis too. Great ideas!

My husband and I are somewhat new cacher, having been at it for almost a year now. We enjoy the game very much. One thing that both of us have discovered, though, is that we like hiding the caches a bit more than we like hunting and finding caches. For myself, I really enjoy the detailed logs that I sometimes get and the pics people post in my cache's galleries. Our statistics kind of say it all; we've found 74 and hidden 8. Additionally, we just bought some super tubes and nanos to up our hides. We are also planning a cache-a-thon searching/finding trip with friends to up our "find" numbers. Don't want to get too lopsided. All that being said, my question to you all is: Do you like finding or hiding best, or maybe like them both equally? Also, is it considered bad form to hide more than find?

I've been asked a few times. Generally, I just tell them that I'm on a scavenger hunt with my GPS. Most folks smile and say that it sounds like fun. I have had one or two people ask for more details. Those folks get the geocaching info card and a nice discussion. If I ever get stopped by the authorities, I will tell them exactly what I'm doing and give them the the info card. Law enforcement officers have enough to do without having to deal with an overly sassy gal giving them a line of bull.
