Sad that we have to live in a time where we have to worry about cyber bullying over a simple game of finding containers on the ground

Nothing like this, these are like awards, I'm proposing reactions, more similar to facebook

I'd assume it would more likely target the younger Geocachers, and people that love the more social aspect of the game. I think implementing a system that targets the social crowd could boost interest in Geocaching. Sure it would be a small charge, but everything adds up. And if people didn't like the feature, they could simply just disable it when they create their page.

So, i'm sure some of you might like this idea, and I'm sure we will have the ones who oppose this one as well. But that's ok, the world is made up of all different types, and that's what makes us awesome No need to drag this post out, the image is pretty self explanatory. What are your thoughts?

a few years ago I heard about geocaching from a friend, I've NEVER seen any advertisements for anything that would indicate this hobby existed. Now I'm very much into it, and could honestly care less about high numbers, I find caches, I hide caches "I purposely to avoid hiding to many micros, and try to make each hide fun and different in some way". It's very clear why the popularity has gone down, NOBODY knows about it! Maybe a few commercials, or youtube ads could turn the hobby's interest around? Also an idea, maybe Groundspeak could seek volunteers from each county to pass out or hang a few flashy flyers, informing people that this hobby exists? It's good for your health, and good for the family.

Just an update, the wife and I visited the cache site yet again, and spent a solid hour at ground zero this time, eventuality I turned my attention away from GZ where the magnetic was supposed to be and checked the bushes for seemingly the 100th time. This time looking, I spotted something on the ground, I found a wrinkled and soaked paper, almost completely torn to bits, I quickly realized I have found the log. We both logged it as a DNF and explained what we have found, I didn't want to post a need maintenance log since it would have probably vanished... A few hours later a reviewer posted a log to check on it and thn, the CO archived it. It's really sad to see such an old cache just go poof, I was really looking forward to finding this one. I degress, thanks for the advice friends, it was helpful.

What Irks me is "Date with insanity!" Even with hints I cannot find that evil puppy! One day it WILL be mine. lol

When placing geocaches, I ask myself one question, "What can I do to make this one different?".

I recently created this one, it's called "Geocaching pizza, Pizza fit for pirates" GC6YVFW It works by rotating the coins in the circles until they line up with the gems, once they are lined up, the black dot points to the numbers for the combo.

That is simply amazing!

So I have a question, Where I live there is a geocache that hasn't been found in 5 months, 2 different previous finders both confirmed to me that it is in fact missing, I put a maintenance log and the co deleted it and told me not to use that feature, he also said he doubts that it's missing. Also it appears recently someone backlogged it so now it appears to have a recent find, yet the cache is gone. What can be done with it? Should I just replace it, since the CO that lives in a different state refuses to check on it? Or do we have to wait for a ton of dnfs to pop up so it alerts a reviewer? Thanks guys.

I'm a little confused, if you get the option to click on an attribute "Field Puzzle" While creating a traditional then why is it considered the wrong category? I created a TMNT Birdhouse with an on site puzzle, and have been told twice that it's a "Puzzle/Mystery" Category and not a "Traditional" Why would they give the option for the in field puzzle attribute on a traditional if it is incorrect?
