  1. I was back in the area so I got the other two names in the log. Only one was registered here and this is his response to my email. "I did find it but never followed up. I noticed that it was not listed on the site. I have not logged many of my finds and lately have not had much time to do any searching. I know I'm not much help but that is all I know." So maybe someday this mystery will be solved but for now.... To those that say it may be the final of a multi. How far apart can the 1st stage and the final be? Around here they seem to be close, ie in the same park. Not miles apart. In my GSAK database I have all caches within 40 miles. There is no cache by that name within 25 miles of the park where I found it.
  2. Log only had "Lake Springfield" at the top and no caches named that within 40 miles. When I"m back in the area I'll check the other 2 names in the log. Maybe that'll work.
  3. We were caching in Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf today. While searching for the multi there we came across a cache that is not listed on geocaching.com, navicache.com or terracache.com. It had an "official geocache" sticker on the outside and had been found twice before us today. Once last fall and once this spring. The logbook said it's name was Lake Springfield. Is is a regular size and had really good swag in it. No TB though.

  5. I've been using the touch and air share for a while now but I always seem to have problems connecting to the touch. I'm thinking of trying Geosphere. Either way is better than printing all that paper!
  6. Since my PQ's are set up by date placed and the earliest date you can select is 1/1/94 what is the best way to find the predated ones? Do you just have to know about them?
  7. Congrats on the "record"! My wife and I did a run on Sat with our 16 month old. We looked for 69 found 52. That was with a stop for lunch. I think it was around 9 hours total and almost 200 miles. I mention this because IMO 413 in 24 hours seems to be completely possible with pre planning and several good cachers. Though I sure wouldn't want to log them all as it was those 69 took me 3 hours.
  8. Good luck however I can't imagine something any easier than GSAK and the FindStats generator. not all of us are rocket scientists I never knew I was a rocket scientist. Thanks!
  9. Lots and lots of micros/nanos in the Quad Cities. If you like those your in luck. However just outside of the cities are a lot of great country hides as well. So it's kinda up to you. There's a TON out at Scott County Park. We have not found any out there yet so I can't speak to the quality of them.
  10. I tried to find a twitter feed but couldn't. What is it?
  11. It appears she started using it around the time of his passing. I would conclude that she wished to keep the old account as a memory to their caching days.
  12. I have an old Plam Zire laying around with Cachmate loaded on it. I want to give it to my parents who have started caching but if they don't want it I am considering using it as a FTF prize. Is there any reason that I couldn't do this? Thanks
  13. Wait this is a sport. Does that mean I'm an athlete? Finally now where's my million dolar contract. Seriously welcome to the obsession and have fun!
  14. I've got a M258A1 on my desk right now. Unfortunately it's still got the decon stuff inside.
  15. If you look for them by their name you will see them. For some reason the gps only shows what is within about 110 miles of your current location. As you get within that 110 miles they will show up. Don't quote me on that 110 miles. It's around there.
  16. If you use GSAK it is really easy. Load up the cache(s) you want in GSAK using filters then export as HTML. Then use AirSharing to put the html file on the Itouch. Post #6 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...=204684&hl=
  17. Thank you, I did not know that I needed 1.4 as well.
  18. Yep, did that. If you zoom in, right on the line on one side you can see everything and on the other it is all white except for the county lines. Using Mapsource on the highest setting. Does no one else have this issue?
  19. Just checked again and other than county lines there is no data there. I have v2.0 that I got from http://www.ibycus.com/ibycususa/ That is the latest one right?
  20. I have no clue. Could you enlighten me?
  21. Stumbled across this thread last week and finally got around to installing it today. THANK YOU so much for this! I got them transferred over to my 60csx and they are great! I noticed that when I selected some maps there was 3 that I could not select. One was central Wisconsin, one was Delaware and the other was in either Arizona or New Mexico. Am I doing something wrong or is there currently no data for those areas? Again I want to say
  22. Try this. Post #6 gives you all you need. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=204684 Works great for me as wi-fi is not always readily available.
  23. How about using surface area(sa) to define size? There is basically no SA to a "blinky" however a face plate has alot more, not sure how bison tubes work in. I like the "swag/no swag" attribute idea but it would only work if you HAD to pick one. I personally would like a way to filter out "log only" caches. Imagine you are 6 or 7, how fun is a "log only" cache for you. At least key holders can fit coins and such. That is all.
