  1. Many thanks for your explanation. I hope it will be fixed soon and I will wait with patience Thank you Nate!
  2. So, it's three years... Please, don't ignore us. Make Geocaching.com really international. This is very important for many people, and this is one of reasons why in some countries people prefer local databases.
  3. What do you think about additional attribute like "EN" if description or clues are available for English speakers and "not EN" if is only in local language and you have to known some words (e.g. puzzles and multis)?
  4. I'm talking you about experience from Poland, and that's thr truth. You can "find" there hundreds of caches without leaving your home. Dont forget shovel and spojler photo (caches with category "GPS-free") and don't forget write password from cache to log your visit. After 3 years of existence opencaching in Poland only 15 visitors from other countries found caches in this local database (mostly Czech an German). Local database is only for local people. You don't believe me - OK, this is British problem now, not mine...
  5. "The game" is find a cache using navigation. I can show you "caches", where navigation is completely useless (e.g. cache is in owner backpack and you have to contact him and arrange meeting, or container is hidden in train, so you have to know what is number of this train), or virtuals, where goal is just find answer and people finding it in Google and not leaving home posting "find". There is many different rules like digging allowed, password needed to log, moving caches, no proximity alerts and many, many others. TB are missing, because someone moved it to cache registered in other database, or people coming for FTF and finding in cache 10 previous logs because it was published one month ago in other database etc. It's same useful like left side traffic, sterling currency or strange 3-pins power plug in GB for people from other part of EU. Don't take it personally, it's just more complicated for users, and if something is complicated you are loosing your time, and time is money. For the same reason people mostly prefer pay for petrol to your car and don't use bicycle what is free. And for the same reason I'm talking to you English not Polish (even my English is poor, but still easier for other users than translate my Polish). Is not that easy as you think.
  6. I think there are 3 different countries and 3 different reasons. Local geocaching in Hungary has long and good tradition, and this is probably main reason. But Hungarian publish their caches on Geocaching.com and it growing up there. Russia - main reasons are impossible use Cyrillic characters and second just money - 30$ is big money in Russia. And Poland... It's just strange country. I know something about it because I'm from Poland. And it is not only problem with language and travelling, I think this is just ideological like 99% things in this country...
  7. I was talking with him few weeks ago and he said me he will be busy with other things after 29.07 so that's probably reason it's not fixed yet.
  8. So that's great and I will very grateful for this LITTLE change what will make really BIG difference
  9. Yes, but I'm asking about other characters, not only "č". If that relates to other characters I will wait with patience.
  10. Yes, I hope it as well, but will be nice see answer "yes, it will be added soon / this month / next year or sorry, we can't do that because...". I will very grateful for any response. And not only me.
  11. Sorry if my question is in wrong place, but I asked about few times (including mail to Groundspeak) and still no clear answer. Is any chance to add Polish characters: ąćęłńóśźż ? Now you can use only "ó". Converted letter sometimes make big difference in meaning. It looks every country using Latin alphabet has their specific characters only we still can't use correct names.. So, is any chance for it?
  12. I'm caching by bicycle. I've found more than 600 caches and more than half of that I found by bicycle. he longest one-day caching trip was 167 km. One time I got FTF in cache placed about 100 km from my home I love cycle-caching
  13. Still can't set "Search All" in Slovakia... See is just fixed, thanks!
  14. There is no "Search All" in provinces for Slovakia.
  15. Was thinking about it many times. I keep my solved coordinates in my personally paper notebook, but what will happen when I will lose it or just forget? Same thing with GSAK - it's easy just lose data or overwrite database. In my own cache I can make waypoint what is invisible for others. Something similar for other caches would be great. Or just some space for personal note to every cache.
  16. I agree, this is big problem for non-English speakers, Would be nice make support for these people just straight on the page. And make possible non-latin charakters, I see some are possible (like French) but not some not (e.g. Polish). This is main problem when you writing name of person or geographic feature (city, mountain etc.)
  17. Oh boys (and maybe girls as well?), there is simply way. Just download your image to your cache listing, use URL for displaying your picture in description and then use "delete" in "edit" options. Picture will be deleted from list, but is still there and you can use URL link Did you really believe your pictures are deleted for good? I'm using this for my descriptions and it works perfect.
  18. Exactly! It was good enough 2 years ago. Every day 500 caches is smaller radius from your home location.
  19. To every people who don't need more PQs/more caches in PQ/easier way to create PQ and they never use their 40 PQ limit: I will give to you my email and you will generate PQ for me at every time when I will need it. Is that right?
  20. Yes, I know I can save URL and I mentioned about it, but just tried and... it doesn't work. Opened my PQ from URL, saved it but is not visible on PQ grid and day of generate PQ is unchecked (despite I checked it before). Strange think, because I tried with other URL for PQ what I found in one of geocaching forum, saved it and it works. Then saved URL, deleted PQ from grid list , click to my saved URL, tried save it on my PQ list and doesn't work again. So now I really don't understand what's going on. Despite this, I still don't understand why is limit 40 PQ for display? Not for generate, not for create, but only for simple display??
  21. I know my English is not quite good, but I think I explained clearly my think. I KNOW about daily limit and limit caches in one PQ. But there is limit in CREATING PQs as well. When I created 39 PQs and tried only create (not run!) next one I spotted this red text: Sorry. You have reached 40 total queries. You will need to delete a query in order to create a new one. It means I can't CREATE more than 40 (sorry, more than 39) PQs. I spent good time creating PQ for one area, but now I have to delete it if I want only CREATE (not run!) other PQ. I'm not using now these PQs, but I will problably in half year, so I have to create it again! Only what I can do is save link to PQ in my browser favorites and create it again. So still I'm asking for is: - make possible create and save unlimited number of PQ - make possible automatically create more PQs (e.g max 10 PQ) if more caches answers to your questions. And keep your daily limits, it's not a problem. And don't tell me CREATING PQ make server busy...
  22. That's not a current limit. I think what sTeamTraen was meaning is that you could run 5 x 500 cache PQ's one day and then the next run the remaining 225 cache PQ. Obviously it would be a lot better if you could get a 2500 cache PQ even if it's just for an extra 30 seconds downloading 5 attachments from separate emails instead of 1 attachment, every little helps I'm not talking about sending it to my email, because I can 2500 per day and I'm not question that. I'm talking ONLY about CREATING PQ. Now I can CREATE 40 PQ in ONE DAY, there is no limit for this, the limit is for sending it to email. Simple, isn't it? Now, when I create PQ for area where is large density of caches i takes me long time, because I don't know what is date for 1st 500 caches placed in this area, what is for 2md etc. So I'm trying: 22 June 2005 - result - 376 caches, so I'm trying 31 December 2005 - result: 500 caches, what means there are more caches than 500 and I still don't know how many (no information about it). So I'm trying 15 November 2005 - result: 456 - not bad, but still trying best, because I waste 44 caches, what is important because there are limits 40 PQ's I think this inot very complicated. Years ago, when sloppy disks were popular they had only 1,44 MB space. So was very hard use this space optimally if you had e.g. 10 files 1MB each. But if you packed all you data using ZIP or RAR packer you could define maximum size of one file. So I defined it as 1,44, and program automatically made files 1,44 MB and last was smaller. Similar could be with PQs. and all the time I'm talking about CREATING PQs, NOT about SENDING
  23. Another ideas what may be helpful and will not make server more busy. Some time ago I tried make PQ for whole Czech Republic, as I was planned visit this country and had no idea where exactly I will there. I used for it nearly whole space in my PQ's, and it took me about one hour to set it correct (use correct dates). After creating this and get all via email, I had to delete it from my PQ list, because was no space left for other PQ's. And no, if I had no saved links to these PQs I have to create it again - Will be very nice if you can save settings of your PQ somewhere in your profile and use it when you need it. Keep limit caches in one PQ, daily and weekly limit, but add option for saving inactive PQs, what you might use in future. - Other idea - if you create PQ and number of caches is largest than 500 can be automatically create more PQs, maximum 500 caches each. For Example - if your settings giving result 2725 caches will be created 6 PQs (5 PQs with 500 caches and one with 225). It will be very useful, and Groundspeak can still keep current limits.
