  1. Dziękujemy Ted. Mam nadzieję, że stronka będzie przydatna. Na pewno jeszcze sporo rzeczy dojdzie.
  2. Tzn kogo? Każdy zarejestrowany użytkownik GC ma tu dostęp. A ile osób będzie czuło potrzebę wypowiedzi to się okaże z czasem
  3. We just started new Polish geocaching website: http://www.geocaching.org.pl/ Now whole web page is in Polish, but we will give some information in English later. Thanks to Bryan!
  4. Witam wszystkich serdecznie na forum, można pisac zarówno po polsku jak i po angielsku. Welcone to the Polish forum, you can speak here Polish or English. But my Polish is little bit better
  5. Reading ale these posts above I think you don't really understand idea of Earthcache and difference between nature science like geology and humanistic science like history. Learning geology or geomorphology or other kind of science about Earth is very important go outside and look and touch how is it looks. And that's the reason people studying geology or similar sciences most of theirs time spend collecting rocks or measuring angle of slope. And people studying history sitting in... library. Going to old battlefield you will not learn too much, it's only field, and probably looks bit different than 500 years ago. All important information you can find in library. You can't see history, history its only a story written by people IN BOOKS. And geology it's a story written IN ROCKS and theirs forms. One of the most important rules of Earthcache is give answer to question what you can do only visiting this place. What historical question can you give only visiting place? All is probably findable in google. You can ask about detail in architecture of historical buliding nearby, but for that will be better "architectural cache" or "archeological cache"
  6. And you can do that, as StarBrand said.
  7. Thousand of caches are place din historical places, in area of high density of caches nearly every one historical place has a cache, and descriptions are full of historical informations. Other with geological sites - before Earthcache started there weren't many geological caches, where you can find geological or geomorphological informations. Starting historical caches we just come back to ordinary virtuals.
  8. It is one history, but there are many interpretations of this history. And this is the reason many nations hate and fight with others. Few years ago historians in Europe gave an idea write one European history handbook for whole Europe. But this idea felt down, because nobody was happy. Eg. for you Americans are great patriots and people of honour. But for many other nations Americans are just aggressors and killers. This is very sensitive and dangerous science. My main question again - who will approve listings - American or Afghan society? No, this is really bad idea.
  9. I see one big problem. Geology is science about nature. History about politics. Who will approve listings in these caches? For EarthCaches is The Geological Society of America what is no really difference if that will be Chinese, Russian or Brazilian geological society. But problem with history is every country has its own interpretation of history. Because it's politics.
  10. You're welcome. But can't see it on the list of listings
  11. Are you talking about this small town near Sopot?
  12. Oh yes. And after that owners of caches what I'm watching will send me emails with question "why are you watching my cache?". No, thanks.
  13. In Ireland now, but shortly back to Poland near Kraków as well
  14. I think that's the main reason why some people leaving their living areas don't give caches to adoption, and is problem with maintenance after. This change will be really good.
  15. sorry, accidentaly I posted wrong adress to cache page, changed now. Ant there is owners explanatin in description:
  16. I'm not sure, rules mention about using tools. So please write official, detailed clarification for this rule. Owners explanation is allways "you don't have to use any tools". If fingers are "pointy object" please add it to gudelines after "shovel and trowel".
  17. As you can see in Guidelines buried caches are not allowed but only if you have to use "shovel, trowel or other pointy object". In Poland buried caches is a problem, because this is common practice in local "opencaching" (even if it's against regulations of national forestry or city park). So people just try register buried cache on Geocaching.com and mostly they are not published (thanks to Slovak and Czech reviewers!). But sometimes people just report as their cache is covered by tiny layer of soil and you can dig it out using only hands. This is one of these caches: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...62bb2&log=y And this is spoiler picture for it: Of course, you can dig it using only hands. As one geocacher said: "If they say that you should be able to dig the caches out with your hands, ten you cant be so careful about your hands. With bleeding fingers all caches are diggable by hand. You know, bone is hard as rock so most soil will give in when you have reached the bone" And what will happen when ground will frozen - it is impossible don't use some equipment like shovel... Maybe some simple change in Guidelines will help not allowed to publish these caches? Or any other suggestions?
  18. Few weeks ago I adopted cache what was placed in area where I never been before. Looked for it (to log "find") but container was gone so I left DNF in my own cache
  19. If I remeber well in Ireland is the same rule from few months ago. Thanks to everybody for clarification.
  20. So, what is now: 1. I can hide cache on cemetery but is not recommended 2. I can't hide cache on cemetery 3. It depends ?
  21. I understand you. In Poland people sometimes waiting few hours sometimes longer than one week. I'm not blaming local reviewers, but this is one more reason people don't register caches on Geocaching.com. I believe, it must be really annoying waiting for review simple cache more than one week. So that is the reason I ask for more reviewers in that region if is too much work for them now.
  22. I'm Polish, and I know much about Nazis camps and everything about it. Poland never really stand up after German invasion in 1939, our economy is still low and this is one of reasons I'm now in other country. But please, stop blame swastika, because this old and good symbol was profane by German nazis. You can see slavic svastika in my logo, and you can visit my cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...7bf19&log=y But please, fight against hate, nazism, racism etc. and don't fight with religious symbols. I don't like when people link swastika only to Hitler, this is bad. But this is historical fact, and is no point ignore that Hitler was using swastika. Try listen what people say, not what signs are around them. Thanks.
