  1. Me and 3 other friends were caching in a forest, and we were near the cache when we saw a couple shove something yellow in their pocket and sit down. We walked up to them and asked if they were keeping dry, then asked if they were geocachers. The guy pulled his etrex out of his pocked and and shoved the cache under the tree they had sat on. We had a small chat about Geocaching on rainy days and GPS' then got on our ways (we had approached the cache from different directions).
  2. Also be sure that your GPS is set onto the right settings for the co-ordinates you are inputting, this is usually hddd mm.mmm' and WGS84.
  3. If you look on ebay you can get a pretty awesome deal. I just got a Garmin Etrex with next day signed for postage (it came yesterday) and it's a great unit, only cost £40 inc. postage. The same unit is £110 at my local outdoors store!!!! You just have to look around and wait for the right deal to come up, and be fast at bidding in the last 14 seconds like I did lol!
  4. Read the description carefully and think about the hints, the more you cache the more experience you will get and learn how people hide caches (and then find the crafty ones easier)! You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly...
  5. Thanks for all your hard work Not sure if you have it, but you pass a trig point on foot, on the way to GCVVZ8 - would be quite handy to have it in your list.
  6. Over here in the UK they usually get published pretty quickly (thanks DC&G!) but it all depends on where you live and the reviewer team for your area. Reviewers can be pretty busy with Geocaching and other commitments so you have to be patient. If it isn't published over the next few days you could find out who your local reviewer is and drop them a polite email through their profile. Other than that you have to sit and wait patiently . As they say, good things come to those who wait!
  7. Awesome! My first hide was a small series, but had to be archived due to muggles. Hope it's popular!
  8. There aren't any physical caches in Disney parks (there are a few virtual ones that require you to answer questions). My suggestion would be to take it into the Disney Parks and photograph it, and then a cache in Celebration would be perfect! (I love it there ). Have fun on your vacation!
  9. Hi guys, After a bidding war on ebay (haha) I just won a Garmin Etrex, it was £39 inc. postage (around $80). It's the basic yellow model (no the H). I know it's basic but it's better than the annoying Magellan that I use now. It should be here Wednesday, I was just wondering do any of you guys use one and what do you think? I tried searching but as etrex is the generic model name I just got reviews for H, Legend, Vista, etc. Thanks
  10. Hi, I am in the process of creating my own signature items, but it seems impossible to be able to buy blank wooden nickels in the UK. I've googled... ebay'd... visited local craft shops... no luck!!! Anyone know? Thanks!
  11. Hi there, I have a series near my house, where visitors have to find 2 micros which lead them to the bonus cache, but I have had reports that 2 of the caches have been hard to get because of muggles walking past. Is it possible to archive all 3 caches, then list a new cache with the co-ords of a cache in that series. So I would: Archive all 3 caches, take them out but put a new cache in the same place that doesn't get muggles. It would be in the same co-ords but I'd hide it a bit differently and it would be small not micro. Hope you understand what I mean! lol Thanks!
  12. Blacks in Leeds had some when I went in on Saturday... I didn't look too cheeky because I needed to buy a tent repair kit anyway. I asked the girl behind the counter and she gave me a funny look, but then another staff member came and gave me one. Hopefully Millets in the White Rose Centre will be running this soon... bit nearer my house. Why couldn't this have run at Go Outdoors!?!? haha
  13. Hi guys, I am looking to trade (or will sell) my Palm Z22 PDA. This is an awesome little PDA that I have used for paperless caching, but my current gps is old so I am looking for a Garmin. It is just like new and is perfectly working. I will trade for any good Garmin GPS or sell for around £30 GBP (they go for more than this on ebay). I have a very reputable ebay account here. Thanks for looking!
