  1. Well, I've decided that for my budget and no frills, this is the unit that I want. Does anyone have a decent unit that they're willing to part with? I can find em on eBay for around 60 plus shipping. I can pay via Paypal.
  2. Well, from what I'm seeing on eBay, these are going for around $60, plus shipping. If you know of a cheaper source then feel free to let me know. Thx.
  3. My old Palm Magellan unit has died. So, I'm shopping eBay for the best deal that I can get. So far, it looks like the Magellan 315 is a pretty good deal. Before I buy one I just wanted to get some opinions on the device. It's strictly for geocaching and I don't need a whole bunch of bells and whistles. Comments?
  4. Another thing to keep in mind at Blair Valley is that the area is also used by a San Diego Astronomers Club. The club has been very specific about how they treat the area and the Rangers have been making sure that the Club stays on top of things. Such as: Vehicles are to park no farther than one car length from the roads. No off roading. Pack all trash out with you. Do not remove any plant or animal life from the area. There's a lot more on the Club's list but I can't recall them all right now. But since the area caters to astronomy, be considerate with use of bright lights when camping. -------------------- The Timinator
  5. Another test. Hey, with all these Avatar's, maybe we should have a "Best Avatar" contest? -------------------- The Timinator
  6. Wow. Sounds like a lot of folks are into using Palm based GPS. I'll be sure to announce when I have something completed.
  7. If funds are tight I would try doing a search for "GPS" on eBay.com. You should be able to find something fairly cheap there.
  8. I'm using a NavMan attached to a Palm VII for my hunts and it's working great. Can't beat the price either. Sure it's a couple years old but it works great and there's a lot of GPS software available for the Palm. (And being a programmer, I'm writing new stuff as well.)
  9. Well after watching this thread for a few days I think it's time for me to introduce myself and say hello. I logged my first cache this past Wednesday and I'm hooked. I plan on doing more this weekend, weather permitting. I'm also scoping out locations for a possible new cache. Since I live in North County, I'm aiming for someplace North of Vista and South of Temecula. Seems to be a minimal amount of caches there. Also, since I'm a programmer, I'm also developing an application for Palm OS to aid in finding caches. Anyway, greetings.
