  1. Hello! http://tcapsules.com/index.phtml http://www.keepsafe.ca/timecapsule.shtml Hahaha As far as ideas are, well, perhaps if you think of what you would like to find in a time capsule that was made 500 years ago. (no matter where in time you place yourself). ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________
  2. What about an international, or global geocaching association? __________ Kanto
  3. cachew nut wrote: I will never understand that dadgum metric system. __________ Why? What part of it is incomprehensible to you? Or is it just the visualisation of the distances in your mind? I grew up with the metric system, and some of the empirical system...and visualization just isn't a problem if exercised enough. Also, here's a puzzle for anyone... Why is it in USA, the main system for measurement empirical, yet the altitudes are in metres...whereas in Canada the system is metric, and the altitudes are in feet?? Also, in 50 years, do you think USA will be in METRIC or in EMPIRICAL? ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________
  4. Well, I hope the following helps somebody. It will sure help me. http://www.caves.org/brochure/grc.pdf http://www.cave-rescue.ab.ca/caving-safety.html I also search Google.ca for: "Responsible Caving" ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________
  5. Jomarac5: Have you done any caches that required you to camp overnight and would having a number of caches along the route make you more willing to go after them? _____ Yes! I would definitely go for an all-weekender, two (and maybe even two and a half) days of paddeling and with more caches on the way!! ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________
  6. I think the activity itself can be used for good and be used for bad. I agree with Renegade Knight that a self-regulating body (like a national or inernational society) will be a positive trend. It will do more good than harm, as it represents an activity that also does more good than harm at all levels (environmental, personal, family, work, scouts, attitude...) Also, because, such an association would be (hopefully) based off the sound and inherently positive fundamentals outlined at geocaching.com, that have been established in the field. ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________
  7. So, there is: 1 - Word of mouth 2 - Internet Sites 3 - Articles and TV Reports 4 - A long history of similar activities ...a newbie on the path to clarity, I think..
  8. The way they mentioned CITO, was as if, the Geocachers there only did it AFTER the cop came along... ...but in the end, if people want to be informed, the sites will do it. Do you think sites are enough? How much percent of the world uses internet? ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________
  9. There is always the option of, as mentioned in the FAQs, of combining two containers (of the same type or of different types, like plastic in an ammo box, or plastic in a plastic container), for the same cache. ______________________________________________ Kanto ________________________________________________

That would get in more people's way than where I have been doing it so far. No one is here but me...don't you see? TEST 14 [This message was edited by Kanto on July 15, 2003 at 09:15 PM.]

__________________________________________ HI quote:Originally posted by BloenCustoms:What are you testing? Perhaps some of us can help. Well, in order to save space and some small portion of dignity, I erased all previous testings, except their numbers, so that only the most recent example of what I'm testing is viewable. For me, it is a trial and error thing. Although I do wonder how I can minimize the "Fuzziness" that comes after I've saved, uploaded and referenced the http link in my signature to a picture? There was no fuzziness when I made the pic, so why does it happen? Thanks! TEST 10 __________________________________________________ Kanto
  19. __________________________________________ HI quote:Originally posted by BloenCustoms:Ok, I managed to make it work by loading the image to Geocaching.com. Still, no success lading images from offsite. Just trying to save some space. There are sites out there which you can upload images for free (if that is what you are looking for). If not, then you must show us the entire code you used in your signatures, so that the problem can be fixed. Everyone who asks questions of this type is always directed to the "Getting Started" forum. __________________________________________________ Kanto [This message was edited by Kanto on July 15, 2003 at 08:17 PM.]
  20. __________________________________________ quote:Originally posted by Renegade Knight:You must be testing thread titles? Posts can be tested anywhere. I was testing a few things at once, then edited them out after seeing their results. That did not include thread titles, but I figured HTML or UBB could not be used to modify thread titles. There is certain UBB that has been not allowed, I think, in the thread messages or he signatures. I do have a question, and I only respond here in this forum because Renegade Knight asked me a question, and thought I'd use the opportunity to ask something else. Why does the Kung Fu symbol below and the red text "Temple Kung Fu" appear fuzzy when they do not appear that way when I pasted them together? I had to upload the image to a site, and then use that address in the signature. Any help would be great, but isn't totally necessary. Thanks. ______________________________________________ Kanto ______________________________________________ [This message was edited by Kanto on July 15, 2003 at 07:09 PM.]
