  1. I have the same problem. The wierd part is it is sporadic. Never consistent. It not only happens when I submit a new post; but sometimes when I link to a profile without opening a new tab and when I try to link to the "most recent post" link on the right of the main forum. It is really annoying. I had a thread last week on it. Some suggested to get the new Beta versions of Firefox, but they don't support some of the scripts I use in MonkeyWrench, so I chose to put up with the problem.
  2. Am I the only one right now that can't get anything to work? NM: it is just the "Map It" feature.
  3. I gotta agree here. Even though I freeloaded a little of TMD with a hint on part of the puzzle. Going to the caches has been amazing for me. It took a lot of searching to find some. I had a BLAST making and editing my bookmark list for the event. I would have never visited my "3 same digits" find and it was cool. My "River" cache I might have eventually got to, but it was a great adventure I had. And the cave cache was one our favorites to date! Best of all I got to place my first cache!! One more to go, I left the one of the closest for my last find. Going for it on Wednesday afternoon and will log it on Wednesday night. My last day of consecutive logging. Now, just two more decoding steps to go...I think (hope)
  4. I attempred two in Italy. One inside Rome, in fact right in the Forum, it is now archived after having a most suprisingly long run in one of the most visited spots in the world. I got the find on that one. I also attempted one just outside the city; DNF. We had to go after 10 mins. searching. Really great experiences on both parts. If I had more time I would have done plenty more. Most people say, it is one of the best ways to get brought to the unknowns gems in coutries you know nothing about.
  5. Ordered me one of them. I really like the way the design is not specific and covers all cachers. Very nice design!
  6. How about earthcaches? I am sure this has been answered elsewhere, and I know some have been moved over to WM.com already. But those that aren't moved - Gone? or Grandfathered?
  7. Got the first part. Funny Now figuring out sides. I know what code is being used...but as far actually figuring it might take a while. Unless I am doing it wrong.
  8. The Garmin got Runover by my Chevy: The Garmin got runover by my Chevy Going to a cache the other day They said not to leave it on the dashboard But I did not listen, oh poor me! I'd been checking for parking on the printout They begged me to go, paperless But I'd dropped the palm in the river So, out the window, what a mess When they found it two miles behind At the scene of the big crash There was swag all over the roadway And pieces of my Legend in the cracks The Garmin got runover by my Chevy Going to a cache the other day They said not to leave it on the dashboard But I did not listen, oh poor me! Now, I was proud of my caching instincts I'd took this loss so very well I didn't panic without my receiver I just grabbed a topo and said, "Oh, hell" You CAN go caching without the Garmin It just takes a little skill Just grab your compass and some coffe Be prepared to take all day, it's still a thrill The Garmin got runover by my Chevy Going to a cache the other day They said not to leave it on the dashboard But I did not listen, oh poor me! Now the cache is getting nearer I can see the fallen trees I consider myself lucky, Other models would have had me three miles EAST Now, I've warned all my fellow cachers Better watch out for yourself Order yourself a suction dash-mount Or better leave that handheld home on the shelf...
  9. Along these lines, is it possible to recoup all costs in coin make? Or better, is it possible to do presales and use that money to cover all costs, thus never having to sepnd except for your own coins?
  10. I look every time I am in one and haven't seen any for the last few months. The ones at that Bluebonnet link look good and they are cheap. I bought a few.
  11. I've seen triple protection: - Ammo can for the cache - put log inside ziplock - ziplock goes inside container (tupperware/specialty) just the size of the logbook Worked amazingly well!
  12. I don't think the owner is listed as a "watcher" I think he/she automatically gets sents activity. So if the cache pages says: "You are 1 of 3 people watching this cache" There are actually 4 people getting emails about activity.
  13. Yup, both of the above problems happen to me. The hanging when going to a direct new post and the trip up while posting. It's strage because it is a sporadic bug. It doesn't happen all the time and there are days where it works perfectly. Yesterday I got rid of some Yahoo and CNN scripts and it seemed to fix it for a while; but this morning back to the same thing. Oh well, just glad I'm not the only one.
  14. Just ordered mine. It's a good looking coin!
  15. I agree. I have had a bug for over two weeks on a couple of occasions, and I always have emailed them to let them know I still had it and would drop it soon.
  16. I have two problems while using the forums that just appeared within the last couple days since I installed GreaseMonkey and installed/uninstalled a Java Blocker. 1) Everytime I post in the forums I get automatically routed to a blank page, rather than back to the thread in which I posted. 2) If I click on someone's name to see their profile I get booted to a blank page unless I open it in a new tab where it will open fine... Any suggestions? Edit: The version is 1.0.7
  17. We use it all the time for caching! - Most often for the pick-up order on the way home, as said above. - But I have also used it when I get really deep into the woods and let the sun get too far down and I don't like walking in silence in dark, so I have called up friends and relatives to talk to to pass the time quicker and alert critters to my presence. - Haven't used it yet because of injury or getting lost, but I make sure to have it for that just in case. I would definitely hold on to it, so you don't regret you didn't.
  18. My kit: _______ GPSr Palm Pilot Knife Pens/pencils Extra Zipock Bags My sig cards Extra batteries Small first aid and survival kits Compass Anti bactterial Rub Anti Itch Rub DEET/Off Hunting Blaze Warm Hat/Gloves/Extra Socks Toilet Paper Swag Bag Water Chapstick Flashlight Umbrella/poncho Camera Walking Stick (rarely) But you have to leave out some here and there because sometimes stuff is just not necessary
  19. I don't want to say I have been bitten by the coin bug yet, as I don't have the funds to support that habit yet. But I have been thinking about grabbing up some coinds that I find interesting. In the past I bet there have been some designs that were out of sight. I was hoping to get some of all your favorites so if I see them come up on eBay or for trade I can add them to the collection. Thanks a ton!
  20. Oh and I would definitely use the "advanced search" feature. Using that you can narrow our seach to onyl specific types of caches within your zipcode. That way you can target the new stuff.
