Above in bold is where I have problems with the definitions keep posting on a "cache". I haven't seen anything valuable, provisions, and well goods is about the closest you can get, but that is not the correct term either in my opinion.

I was not pointing out what is stored in a cache, I was giving the dictionary definition of the word cache. It is clearly defined as "a hiding place", "A place of concealment", and a Store of goods.... concealed in a hiding place". Please don't derail my statement and try to make it something it isn't. I don't mean any offense to you, Woodsters, as I'm sure you didn't mean me any.

  2. I think the reason that traditionals are approved over virtuals is that a "virtual cache" is not really a cache. Cache is defined as:

    1) A hiding place used especially for storing

    provisions.

2)A place for concealment and safekeeping, as of valuables.

3)A store of goods or valuables concealed in a hiding place.

Nothing is "hidden, stored, or concealed for safekeeping" when it comes to a virtual. Am I calling for the end to virtuals? No. I just think they should be placed when a traditional cache cannot be placed, as stated numerous times before. If you have a place of interest that you want people to see or visit, can they not appreciate it if there is a traditional cache nearby? Why not lead them to the spot with the traditional cache, and make sure to note on the cache page the things you want them to appreciate/notice/stand in awe of? There can't be that many places that require a virtual to be placed over a traditional, and with a traditional, you can have the experience of a virtual, and swap McToys

  3. Umm, I don't like them, but Depeche Mode did a song called Pleasure, Little Treasure, and the Kottonmouth Kings have an album called Hidden Stash, and last, but not least, is THE song, by The Who, entitled

    Cache Cache

Did you ever sleep in a bear pit

With apple cores and mice along

Did you ever lay on ice and grit

Or search for a place where the wind was gone

Did you ever tramp up endless hills

Past cosy homes with secret beds

Did you ever dream of a suicide pill

And wake up cold to the smell of bread

Well I have slept there badly twice

And shared my straw with scratchin mice

Although you'll find some deep brown hair

I'll tell you something for nothing

There ain't no bears in there (cache cache)

Not a single bear in there (cache cache)

Did you ever have to make a draw

For a hard wooden bench or a bed of stone

Did you ever jemmy a stable door

Or scare the horse to escape the snow

Did you ever invade a neat little yard

Wake up the children who hope for ghosts

Did you ever cause their dogs to bark

Their guests to curse their noisy hosts

    Don't jump in expectin fun

Don't swagger in there with your elephant gun

Don't enter the cage with wavin chairs

Cos I'll tell you something for nothing

There ain't no bears in there (cache cache)

Not a single bear in there (cache cache)

Did you ever pass the police at work

And hope that they might take you in

Did you ever wonder why music hurts

When someone plays it aloof to sin

Did you ever believe that a smile could cure

A happy face keep you warm at night?

Were you ever fooled by laughters lure

Only to find that they laughed in spite?

    Chorus: (as above)

Did you ever finally find a place

A soft warm bed in a room of flowers

And when you finally laid down your face

You found you slept for a hundred hours

    A hundred hours.

There ain't no bears in there (cache cache)

Exactly! the H2 is just a Hummer wannabee.

True, but what percentage of either Hummer, not counting the ones the military owns, is ever driven off-road?

If it was mine, you can bet it would be off-roading.

    Cheers!

Mine too, but how many other people would take theirs out? They are "too pretty" for most people to get all dirty ,scratched and dented, I guess.

The ones I have seen at National Parks come with little nails. I always think they are cool, and then never buy them for whatever reason.

You can switch it to display yards, at least on a Magellan. I have a SporTrack Map, and you switch it under Setup, Then go to Nav Units, and then switch to Miles/Yd/MPH, and you get yards instead of feet.

  8. I think my wife has gone to about a quarter of the caches I've found, and I don't think she'd ever go to one on her own. I think she enjoys it to a point (meaning she would rather go find a cache than watch a sporting event). She likes to hold the GPSr and try to navigate to the cache location. I *REALLY* need to get her a unit of her own!

I think it would probably be easier using Illustrator or Quark for the card/stats portion, and for the photograph use Photoshop.

OK, the REAL question is: 8-Track or Vinyl?
