  1. I had reported all the fake logs on a series I created. GS assured me after the GPX capabilities were stopped on or about March 25th it would end. I helped on another series and within 12 hours there were more fake logs. I really would like to know how they hacked the GS servers to get the answers in the first place. I have sent emails to the cheaters telling them they are cheaters. Makes me sick that we have no recourse to delete logs. Lots of time and gas was spent to create these. I call BS that a jerk in Europe gets to log them. So GS, what are you going to do about it now?
  2. The ability to place new ones around 2005. The ability to adopt them around 2010 or so. I expect a day will come that they will all be archived without warning.
  3. I didn't realize that this had been "coming soon" for that many years. Come on Groundspeak, how about it? Instead of taking away things I liked about the game. (Virtuals, webcams, challenges the way they were) Give something that has been requested for at least 6 years. I don't usually say much, but I wanted to voice my opinion. I can get the favs added with GSAK quite easily, but it's just another thing I have to do manually. Rant over...
  4. Really, no souvenir.....Wow Groundspeak picks some odd ones to give them to, and misses the boat on others.
  5. Mine was a cow. Thanks for the heads up Steph. New Hampshire eh. I'm just next door in Maine.
  6. OK, So I have an interesting story for you all. A few years ago I was caching for the week in Vermont. You were to go to a walk in only cemetery and read numbers from 2 stones to get coords for the final. When I walked into the clearing I see a fresh dug hole. Now keep in mind that there is no possible way for any equipment to get there. The hole is not long enough to be a grave, BUT it is wide enough as well as deep enough. And it was definitely fresh dug. Now the strange part. One of the stones that we went to find was missing and broken off and down in the freshly dug hole! We could only assume that it was the one since we didn't find it anywhere else. I tried to clean it off with a long stick, but had no luck, and I was NOT going down in there. I have to believe that someone was trying to rob a grave. As I said, this cemetery is a quarter mile bushwhack. Not a frequented place at all. I walked back out to the car to tell my wife what I had found. OK, so I had to try it one more time. Now it's starting to rain. I gather my nerves and get a log and down into the hole I go. The soil kept filling in around the stone as I was trying to read it. All I was thinking was I am going to get buried in a used grave. Dang! I finally give up. I emailed the owner and suggested he contact the local authorities. I did go back last fall and finish this one after it was converted to a traditional.
  7. It was on my WiFi at home. The PQ was only 150 caches. Is it because I had already downloaded that one to GSAK on my laptop. Does the App need a fresh download in order to work? I wondered about that after I posted the first time. Still have had no luck on this. Anyone?

  9. I have an iPod touch with the newest version of the Geocaching App (v3.0.1) loaded into it. I set my PQ's to do a download. Anyone have an average time that this should take. I have let it run for 10-15 minutes and it never seems to finish. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. I was floored to receive the UR#1 coin in the mail his past weekend. Thanks so much to Hollora for the kind words. A very nice coin, and a great addition to my collection.
