  1. Thanks! Your pocket query has been saved and currently results in 534 caches.
  2. Send email to reviewer or post a NA on the cache page.
  3. We had a series in this area based on a popular board game that was essentially a 45 stage multi-multi. You had to find several traditional caches in each color group ie:GREEN to get the clues needed to reach the final of that group. Then the clues of those finals were needed to locate the FINAL of the series.
  4. A cache we once found says this on the page. "Placed with permission of the country store. The other store owner knows about the cache also, but please don't bother them by asking them where the cache is. Thanks!" So don't mention the name of the business and people can decide for themselves whether to visit it.
  5. For my everyday use i got Cache Register (a $10 download from Delorme).
  6. For my everyday use i got Cache Register (a $10 download from Delorme).
  7. Some MetroParks may prohibit such a placement
  8. The 1st cache we ever found we later adopted and are now the owners, we consider that to be a valid find. Now, a local cacher moved out town and adopted out all his caches. Another cacher (the adoptee) mentioned he hasn't yet found the caches he now owns. So though he now owns the cache , would his 'find' be valid ??
  9. I wouldn't recommend using Jake Smith-Jones, but there is nothing wrong with Jake340. Many use something similiar a variation of their own name, others use something which says something about them.
  10. IE 7, Version 7.0.5730.11. Though that is probably no longer relevant as I see in a later posting the problem is now fixed. I'll verify that today I did NOT see the stray cache issue.
  11. Todays attempt on my part shows my PQ=720, the same results appear when downloaded to my GPS. The map shows only 663 with a stray cache of GC8BD6 several hundred miles away. http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx...7a-5bfca97784e7
  12. This morning i generated a 'my finds' PQ. Once I received notice its availabilty I downloaded it. Later it missing from the DL tab, but now I see it has returned.
  13. I too am experiencing the random far-away cache issue on my PQ map. The PQ does a 25 mi radius of Avon lake, OH and the random cache is GCAB2C located in the state of Washington. The increase has allowed me to combine previous PQs and reduced the number than I need run for my preferences. Thank you for that.
  14. If I can't retrieve it and won't be rturning to the location, but i have seen the cache, I may write a note to that effect, but not log a find.
  15. Along this line of reasoning, then clicking the "I agree" button would not give immunity to GC.com . Huh? GC.com is just a listing site. It's kind of like me posting on Facebook that I'm going to be playing frisbee in my front yard. Everyone come on over for a fun evening. Cool, the gang will be over tonight to plant some caches in your yard
  16. Or if someone should 'lose' the tag on the trail or 'forget' to replace it on the way back out.
  17. Suspected it might be NS, in that case your values are reversed. Google maps will accept your values in this format (note placement of decimal point): 46 15.253 -063 06.880 and return a location off Kensington Rd, Belvedere, Prince Edward Island. Caches within 1 mile (all more than 528 ft/.1 mile): http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...;submit8=Search
  18. using that link the results look ok. Enlighten us, is this location South of Africa near Antarctica or near Nova Scotia Any particular reason you need it in the requested format?
  19. As the cache owner you MUST leave 3 TBs for every one taken :D:) Seriously, as others said as long as your intent is to get them traveling take as many as you want, especially if they have been sitting there too long.
  20. Enquirying minds want to know: Cache Permanence When you report a cache on the Geocaching.com web site, geocachers should (and will) expect the cache to be there for a realistic and extended period of time. Therefore, caches that have the goal to move ("traveling caches"), or temporary caches (caches hidden for less than 3 months or for events) most likely will not be published. If you wish to hide caches for an event, bring printouts to the event and hand them out there. We realize that it is possible that a planned long-term cache occasionally becomes finite because of concerns with the environment, missing or plundered caches, or the owner’s decision to remove the cache for other valid reasons. Please do your best to research fully, hide wisely, and maintain properly for a long cache life.
  21. When we're driving somewhere we use the Magellan, the spoken directions (turn west on north st) are handy. For cache runs I prefer the PN-40, though it only chimes for turn alerts. The 'paperless' caching and accuracy make it a better unit.
  22. You send them a polite note suggesting that they shouldn't bother looking for your cache because it won't meet their expectations.
