  1. Most of the time we are just out for the hunt and don't take along the bag of swag for trades. On one occassion we were on a road trip and stopped at an exit to seek a nearby cache. A trinket caught our eye as something we really wanted, with nothing to trade we didn't want to 'steal' the item and thought the fair thing to leave was cash. At least someone later could trade for it or the CO could use it for restocking swag.

  2. Our last placement was an LPC where I took one reading, then went home for a container and preped the cache page. Upon return checked that the original coords were horseshoe/hand grenade accurate. Then submitted the cache report. All finders have not had a problem with it.

On another location I averaged for several minutes, then used that to renavigate to the spot when I returned with the container, the averaged somemore for the published coords.

  3. Recently we located a cache that wouldn't open.

No sign no find, so we made it a DNF, but stated in the log that we believed we had actually found it. Sent an email to CO describing the container and the possible mtce issue. They responded that we should claim the find.

Without their approval we weren't going to take because we didn't SIGN LOG.

  4. I logged two caches that I subsequently adopted. My logs will stand in those instances.

I feel that's an acceptable exception.

Sure it is. The question was about logging your own caches. They weren't his caches when he logged them.

Begs the question, if you adopt a cache that you have never found, then you find it, should you count it as a valid find now that you own it? Personally I would as I didn't 'know' where it was.

  5. I have entered a park after hours to grab an FTF on many occasions. All of them are valid logs because it is NOT up to GS or a CO to decide when or where I break a law. I will enter a closed park again.

It is your problem if you are cited or arrested, not my problem.

If I know there are restrictions in place at the cache location I'll post them, then finder beware.
