  1. One thing we started a few years ago is to have our pastor and his family over for dinner. They are from out of state so the have no family around. we really love the company.
  2. No. You're the only one. Just kidding. I think about 50,000 geocachers call their Magellan "Maggie". We have the Magellan gold that we call "Golden boy" The one for the truck we call "Mona" after the one in the movie RV.
  3. I know that with the Free 30 day membership therre giving away with the purchace of the new garman they say that if you have a membership already it will be extended for for 30 days.
  4. Excuse me for being dumb, but how do you amass 300 geocoins without stealing them? The idea is to move them on. Only an idiot would buy 300 geocoins and not release them into the wild! 300 coins would be the personal coins they had made. You can have your own personal geocoin made, but you have to get a large amount, I think the min. I have seen is 150.
  5. We had wind gusts of 40mph yesterday, and brush fires scattered around the area.
  6. Thanks everyone, it is the "GeoCachers 4 Christ - In The Light" coin, I'll keep an eye out on the Landsharkz site.
  7. Had to disable my only catche. I had it hid in a hollow tree at Church, got a call from the Preacher's son telling me that I had to find a new hiding place, the tree fell due to high winds.
  8. Hello, My daughter and I just started geocacheing after Christmas, and we were looking on the net at some geocoins then and we saw this coin. Now we are ready to buy a few coins and my daughter really wants this coin, any idea about where I can get it?
  9. Cache-tech, if I lived up there I would go cacheing with you, sounds like you need a break.
  10. We found one this past weekend that I'm sure was not hidden wherre the owner hid it (In fact it was'nt hid at all) I put it back where I found it and sent a e mail to the owner.
  11. "August 25, 2007 by cheminstr (206 found) this cache is missing its log - sorry, didn't have supplies with me to replenish as I was with Boy Scout Troop. [view this log on a separate page]" Hmm, I thought the boy scout motto was to always Be Prepared.
  12. True. But I don't think a county park that is opened to the public can be considered not giving permission to the public to enjoy the park for recreational activities. There's a large difference between not having received any permission and having received adequate permission. I was more referring to the Wal-mart reference.Either way. Let's imagine that we're driving my RV across country because we want to find some of those awesome caches in Iowa. I pull into an empty area of WalMart's parking lot and drop anchor for the night. Would it be OK for us to toss a frisbee, or should I go in the store and ask permission? sbell111, as a fellow RV'er, do you not go inside to ask the manager permission before spending the night in the WM parking lot?
  13. If I understand your question, theres no heritage, two people with normal hearing may have a deaf child, or vice versa. Also many children go deaf at a young age even though they can hear as a baby. I have a friend that is 80% deaf, he lost his hearing at a very young age. I will be ordering this coin this weekend.
  14. Thats what I thought, just making sure.
  15. After reading the posts here I'm still confused, do you need permission or not to hide a micro in a parking lot light post?
  16. I also got my magellan meridian gold for christmas after hearing about geocaching a couple of years ago and been wanting to try it. I figured it would be good excercise after having gastric bypass. Daughter is also hooked.
  17. Still new to this so I can't really list the pros and cons but I use a magellan meridian gold, I know that I seem to be in the minority on here that uses a magellan but I like it, but then again I've only had it since Christmas and still learning.

    we're lost

I envy you just a bit because it would REALLY be nice to have an automobile GPS to get me as far as I can, then park and let my handheld take over. It would make it a lot easier to drive from cache to cache! That came in handy in SC this past weekend while out caching.

    we're lost

I'm a newbe also who got the same unit for Christmas from my wife so I could go Geocaching and I found out that it wont work for Geocaching, but it works good for driving. I went to WalMart and found a magellan Gold on sale for $99.00 and got it.(just had to convince wife that I needed two GPS's)
  20. HAPPY NEWV YEAR FROM NORTH CAROLINA! Just got home from Myrtle Beach and done some caching there. OPPS, forgot my resolution, it is to do more caching with my daughter and to do our first hide.
